Yup, she'll be 1. Problem is, I'm probably going to be a little short on UR after booking to Hawaii. Why is KE better if I'm going with a kid under 2? Lower fees?

On a long flight, I wouldn't lap infant a 1 year old. Splurge for the seat if you can. 3 in J will be much more comfortable than 2 in F (unless there happens to be an empty F). If you don't have enough miles, head to rite aid later today.

IME's, KE has always had empty seats and at times empty cabins.

Not a bad idea to just do 3 in CX J. Also much easier to find availability. Though F looks awesome. I feel like if I do J, I'm just gonna be thinking about F the whole flight haha.

True. And I'm sure that CX J is still pretty sweet, right?

If you value your vacation (and life) , you better switch before July.

Don't worry, I hear about it daily. She already let me know that if nothing opens up I will need to sacrifice my seat for hers.  :o

There was a newly-married Arabic couple on my EY flight with one in F and one in J.  Guess who sat where?

keep your eyes open for paid fares. Rates can be very cheap to Mia almost the same as mileage.

For next July, probably 4-5 days sans the kids. We love nature and the outdoors. Might be able to convince my wife to do a week, but u doubt it. Minyan and kosher food a plus but not necessary. Prefer to do international and leave domestic (national parks) for future travel with family.
Thinking about Iceland. Other option would be Ireland.
The other possibility would be MLE, but seems crazy to travel that far. Would lose >33% on travel...
Anyone with any other recommendations? Which idea do you like?

Middle of rainy season.
Missed that. However, I believe most people here go to the Andaz which is in the northwest.
In Guanacaste, the dry northwestern province, the dry season lasts several weeks longer than in other places. Even in the rainy season, days often start sunny, with rain falling in the afternoon and evening.

Doesn't affect you if you schedule your day properly. I went for a week in August and the only time it was a nuisance was Shabbos going to mincha
