Hey all.

Looking for some Honeymoon ideas.

I'll be getting married in a few months and then moving to Israel in the end of July (around Rosh Chodesh Av).
2 weeks to settle in and then off on a 1.5 / 2 week trip.
We would like to depart from TLV July 30 - Aug 1 or perhaps Aug 6 /7.

Some criteria:
1. We are NOT looking to just sit on a beach for a week. We want to do something fun and exciting. A little bit of "chilling" is fine but we are not just going to the Maldives, sit on the beach and get fat. We need a bit of action.
2. At the same time... It is a honeymoon so we prefer not to be somewhere too far-out and dirty eating tuna out of a can.
Doesn't need to be a major Jewish city with a kosher restaurant and grocery store, but that would definitely be a plus.
3. Needs to be east of the Atlantic. We're not flying to Israel just to head back to North or South America.
Europe is probably the best, but we are open to Africa, Mid East, and Asia as well (if it is in line with criteria #2)
4. I already did Italy and Switzerland this past summer so I prefer not to do those again (otherwise they would be perfect).
5. UAE is too hot in Aug, so please don't suggest it!

As far as points go, Here's what I have... (and if you can make an itinerary suggestion with which points to use it would be greatly appreciated!)
Chase -  350k
Cap One - 65k
Aeroplan - 105k
Delta - 100k
IHG - 125k
And a random mix of travel credits.

Really would appreciate any ideas anyone has!
Thanks!!

Bump

I'm still having a hard time with south africa.
It's got the 3rd highest crime rate in the world
And Cape Town is #13 for homicides.
That's besides the diseases and pills and shots for Kruger... Seems a bit much for a honeymoon...

There's gotta be somewhere else...?
Anyone???

Scotland/Ireland/Norway or Iceland/Greenland in RV? Thailand is a pretty classic spot.

Thanks for the ideas.

UK might be my best bet.

Is there kosher food in Iceland or Greenland?

I would love to do Thailand but from what I understand Thailand is wettest in aug and sep, although someone told me that it only rains for an hour or 2 a day..?

Any kosher food there? Maybe we can do Paris for 2 days, get food there, and then make our way south...

Also, is there any natural beauty besides for the beaches?

Maybe. Is the weather better (drier) than Thailand?

Portugal made it onto my top ten list. I found it to be a perfect mix of culture, history, and nature. Great prices by Western European standards. Only downside is the very limited kosher (only one real sit down restaurant in Porto, and some grocery options in Lisbon).
I wrote a longer trip report on it that'll give you an idea of what it's like.

Funny because I was actually looking into Portugal yesterday, and I read your excellent TR.
My holdup though is the lack of Kosher food like you mentioned....

Ok, guys looking for some help.
I want to take my wife away for a tenth-anniversary trip, but we will BH have a newborn, making things challenging.
Coming from NY.
I planned initially on Hawaii, but it doesn’t seem worth going through everything it will take to make that happen with a newborn. We’ve never been there, and she’s always dreamed of going, so I want to find a way to go without any kids in the future.
What talks to us is the scenery - specifically beach-type scenery. We enjoy long drives and walks, and highway 1, California, is our happy place. The beach, together with the mountains, is everything we love.
I’m looking for a beautiful place that also allows us to take long drives - not just something like Aruba, where there isn’t as much to explore.
I am hoping to be able to go for up to a week right after Shavuos (end of May or early July).
I would appreciate all ideas.

2 Very random ideas.

1. Try the Pacific Northwest, although it's not exactly "beachy" there's still plenty of coast along the way if you take US-101.
Start at Vancouver / Whistler / Seattle and make your way south to Portland.
You can hit Olympic national park, Mt rainier, and columbia river gorge along the way.

2. Northern Michigan.
Michigan is undirectedly beautiful with more coastline than any other state in the contiguous US!
You can see Petoskey, Traverse city, Mackinac Island and the upper peninsula.

A few that come to mind for long drives:
Iceland
Scotland
Labrador, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, and/or Prince Edward Island, Canada

Shorter drives (and more Hawaii like):
Azores
Madeira
Canary Islands

All are kosher-challanged.

To better clarify: Hawaii is still an option, but island hopping or staying in LA for Shabbos and then flying put as well as climbing volcanoes and hikes will be real tough with an infant so not sure that's a great idea. Maybe if I found a way to get business class with miles to make the flight easier. It just seems a bit tough. Do want something especially beautiful and more exotic because of it being for this special occasion.
I was thinking Costa Rico but I'm worried about the rain that time of year.

I subsist on tuna and eggs when traveling so I don't know the customs rules.
