whats your criteria and interests? budget? kids? what cabin and program do you want to fly?

My first, and main issue, is convincing my wife to go traveling with my kid.
Cabin, would prefer business, and program doesn't make much of a diff. My miles are pretty diversified.
In regards to budget, I generally try to save as much as possible buy I've came to the realization that some type of trips I.e Maldives, will cost more, and ones has to do what one has to do..
Our interest are almost anything, hence the issue of where to start.

Different trips take different amount if times. So you narrow it down based on the time you have. The time of year should narrow it down further. And the places your left with sometimes comes down to price/award availability. (what's in Nigeria? Definitely nowhere near my long list of places to visit)

5-7 days - Maldives/Bora Bora
10 days - Thailand
2 weeks+ - Australia or New Zealand

I'm assuming you are planning a summer trip?  How many days do you have?

Not sure how many days, but my summer trip will be a bit closer to home - probably between Cancun, Puerto Rico, or Costa Rico. Vancouver is also an option, if I can grab CX F tickets.

The 5 days works out better, being that I don't have the option of going away for 7+ days to often.

Though it could be different for you. Mrs. AJK was a seasoned veteran at that point, your DW may not be and may react differently.

Lol. Thanx for the surprise idea btw. Pulled it about 8 months ago on dw for anniversary & she was talking about for months afterwards. Had her all the way by the gate b4 I told her. Although I didn't manage to actually get her on the plane without giving it away

Nope. Completely different. But I did get the idea of a surprise like that from him. I'll have to write a tr about it one of these days
