As per my Ped, it is completely safe (no long term effects or sleep issues). I give 2 of my kids a small does every night or they can't fall asleep
It is melatonin,something our body naturally have that helps us fall asleep

But back to his vacation plans...  CX also consistently has 5 seats from the west coast and ORD to HKG (although you'd probably have to search through for summer dates) and then you can go on to wherever you want, Thailand, Singapore, etc.

I don't want to get my kids used to it, so I only give them when they can't fall asleep.

I'm in the middle of writing one. The quick one two is that even though I was only there for a day, there's definitely tons to do, it's a lovely place, and the kosher food is great (although being that it was my first real meal in 4 days may have had something to do with that).

Prepare to melt if you go in the summer. You have never experienced such humidity.

my friend is actually there right now and is not all that enamored. theyre staying in the westin playa bonita, and while its a nice hotel its nothing major and beach they claim is horrid. maybe you have some suggestions offhand for them

Tell them to download the Kosher PTY app, tons of restaurants that deliver and can see all the restaurants from your phone.  I'm gonna stay in Panama City which I think is a better bet.  We're gonna also go to the locks, canal and Monkey island in the canal, a tour to see the Embrera Indian Villages and also Casco Viejo (the old city) is supposed to be cool.  We're not going to San Blas, coffee growing Highlands, Ziplining and a bunch of other stuff because of our kids, but there is ton to do!
