suggestions for warm place to go in January (winter) with a baby for 6-9 days, other then continental usa, mexico, carribean? as of now, hawaii is top choice based on past recommendations.

not need kosher food, jewish community etc.... but flight time is a consideration. hence not going to thailand, maldives or new zealand no matter how much i want to.

Panama is amazing.

My trip to Italy.
1st week of August. Flying into Rome (landing Friday) and spending Shabbos there. Flying out of Venice the next Sunday.  Spending the 2nd Shabbos there.
Midweek:
Is it better to go south to Naples and Pompeii or work our way north?  What is there to do in central Italy?
If I go south, (a) should I stay in Naples? Is there a shul there, food?  (b) Travel north: by plane ( $23- $51 nonstop 1:15 travel time + to and from the airports),  train ( $60 +   5 hours), rent a car and stop for sites along the way (as yet unpriced).
Rome- 1st Shabbos:
Which hotel is near davening?  We’re looking at the Dem Guest House – kosher breakfast.  Is it OK?  What about Shabbos food? I can’t get a bottom line answer from all the information in the Rome wiki.
Venice – 2nd Shabbos:
Locanda del Ghetto – kosher breakfast.  Chabad meals.
Any input and suggestions appreciated.

I don't really have answers to your questions, but I found this site: http://www.atlasobscura.com/things-to-do/italy

Herculaneum has been on my bucket list for quite a while (not far from Pompeii, destroyed at the same time), and Baia sounds fascinating (same general area).  Didn't look at the full list.

Besides Shabbos, how many days do I need in Rome?
Do I go south afterward? Is there enough time midweek for it?

Looking for an extended weekend idea to do with a family, Wednesday thru Sunday, needs to be within 3 hour flying or 5 hours driving of NJ. Preferably somewhere exciting that Shabbos food is easily accessible. Any ideas? (not Miami)
