Looking for my next vacation idea (think I came to the right place? ;))

Traveling alone, US 48 (coming from NYC), about a week, Sun-Thurs or if its a place I can spend Shabbat not in a hotel, maybe a wrap around till Sunday. Looking for a city with activities/museums, not a place I would veg out. Not looking for something outdoorsy. TIA.
What about DC? Weather isn't great but you won't run out of stuff to see.

Boston - museums, historic, etc
Washington, DC.- "              "
Chicago - great natural history museum and others.
San Francisco - I don't remember, but there was plenty to see and do.
San Diego - Seaworld, the Zoo, Old San Diego. Good for 2-3 days, then fly up to San Francisco?  Or do it in the other order and drive from SD to LA for Shabbos?

New Orleans
I like that idea. Which is why I did it last December. I've also done, DC, Vancouver, Los Angeles, Dallas, and Chicago. Haven't officially done Boston, but I lived there for a few years and my family likes be tourists in our own city, so I've done most of what it has to offer.

Been thinking about that.

I hadn't thought of that, the combination of SD and SF might be a good idea. I'll look into that. Thanks.

If you've already done those cities, Denver might be fun and could also combine with SF or SD on the way back home.

AMS (Andaz) or FCO (S. Regis)?
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Thinking of getting away for two or three days if we can find someone to watch the kids. Vail Colorado vs Banff, or any other suggestions. Traveling from NJ.

Are you looking to hike and do things like that or just to relax?

You could do Utah but limiting yourself to 2-3 days would be a shame there, there's so much to do.

Even that amount of time is quite a stretch primarily due to childcare but also because of limited vacation time

I see. If you do go to vail, definitely try to get out to Hanging Lake Park, it's an hour away, one of the coolest and most beautiful places I've ever been. (Although I haven't been many of the places other DDFers have been)
