Need some help. Dw and I want to take a nice trip in January. She wants to do Sunday-Thursday to be home for DB on Shabbos. (We live in NY). She wants to go to a warm place where we can relax most of the time. I was thinking Maui but I would want to spend more time there. Perhaps Palm Springs would be a good idea. Zika destinations are not an option. TIA

Don’t need to go to Japan. That’s what I’m asking (e.g, 2 days in Tokyo, 3 days in mainland China, etc)

Panama! Tons of J seats on Copa (30k SQ miles), great beaches and activities and better restaurants than basically everywhere but Israel. :D

The rainy season reaches its peak in November, so if you are looking to visit Panama Canal and want to stay dry, this is not the time to visit. ... Check the weather forecast before you leave and always be prepared for rain. Average daily temperatures of 26°C mean that it is never really cold here

Looking to go somewhere for an extended weekend in Jan/Feb.
International
Not further than 6 / 6.5 hour flight
Preferably not beachy

Reigning option for now is Iceland.
Anyone have any better ideas?

I was gonna say Iceland :D...

With your flight times you're really limited to Iceland, Canada, and Central America/Caribbean.

Ye, kinda what I figured. The areas of Canada that I want to go to are way too far.
Central America is an option but doesn't excite me as much and there is a Zika problem so...

Is Iceland doable in a 2 or 3 days? I know I can easily spend 2 weeks there but just wondering if it's ludicrous to go for so short.

Thanks!

My first trip there was under 3 days on the ground. So long as you're mobile (preferably campervan, but at the very least not staying in REK all the time) you could go as far as Jokulsarlon and have plenty of time see the main sights and more.

Costa Rica. All of the above but kosher food is only available in the capital city, where you wouldn't want to spend much time. But they do have takeout and pack meals.

@ponash123 remember that there are very limited daylight hours in the winter, so the later you go the better.  For example, mid-Feb has nearly twice the daylight hours than mid-Jan.

Potentially want to go with DW next Sunday-Tuesday. So something not too far. Would go to Orlando or Miami, but it's rainy there all week....

Didn't really travel much, so I'm open to a lot of places.
