What do you recommend Vail vs Banff for summer vacation?
Usually do the Swiss Alps but this year it's not so practical...
Vail attractions are closer, has regular Chabad.
Banff attractions are further. No minyan. But closer resembles the alps

Nice quaint place, but not a National Park by any means.

Crown Plaza was ok, wife felt it was very clean and comfortable. It was probably one of the best ones for the area. I believe there is a newish Marriott property there as well.

Looking to do a mini family vacation at a hotel where I can use the pool and amenities without restrictions. I'm in Lakewood, NJ. Can I do that in NJ hotels? Should I book a PA hotel? Or do I need to go further out?

I haven't been at a hotel since before Corona, so I really have no clue how they are operating these days.

I've heard that the Doubletree in Lancaster, PA has its pool open, and it's supposed to be very nice, not to mention bookable with Hilton points or else $129 a night cash rate. Call first to verify if interested.

Mammoth cave from BNA or SDF.
But of the none of the above are truly a day trip from NYC.

I just reviewed my list- this is what I got.

Cuyahoga- fly into CLE
Congaree- fly into CAE
Hot Springs NP- fly into LIT or Memorial Field Airport (no direct flights from NYC, so LIT might be the only option for a day trip)
Gateway Arch (if you consider that a "NP")- fly into STL

Those are small parks so you can cover in a day.

I think Acadia would feel rushed if flying in and out on the same day.
Indiana Dunes might be an option too, but I'd want to hike for more than what would be possible if flying in an out, although you'll probably have great flight options as the closest airport are the ones in Chicago.
Mammoth Cave will be hard to manage if you're flying in and out same day and want to cover 2-3 tours.

Why specifically a national park and not a state park? NY has massive nice state parks

Good point. Was thinking a bit too big :)
Which ones would you recommend?
