I would choose another city as well (Florence). 4 days in Venice is too much IMO
Would you do rome/florence/venice? I have about a week.

Thinking of doing italy this summer with the wife.
What do you guys recommend? I have 150k spg, 150k chase ur, 110k ua.
Should i be doing 3 days rome, 4 days in venice?
2 Rome, 2-3 Venice (including shabbos), and 2 Florence.

I never did any of the other cities but if you want another day you can squeeze it out and go to the coast or Pizza etc...

Feel free to read here scroll down to the Italian cities... http://forums.dansdeals.com/index.php?topic=16188.msg224088#msg224088

If your interested in going into the Vatican then that requires one day plus more or less everything else in Rome can be done in another day. With Venice- two days are enough but if you want to spend shabbos there then maybe three days in Venice is good. Then a day or two in Florence... Enough to do there and maybe one day in Milan but I'm not really sure if its worth it or if there's so much to do in Milan.

No reason to go to Milan.
In Venice I got there right before shabbos and was bored by Monday
Vatican ime is a half day.
Splurge on the Rome for Jews Jewish quarter tourtour
Don't think you need two full days in Florence

-1. I think this plan was great
2 Rome, 2-3 Venice (including shabbos), and 2 Florence.
u definitely need 3 days in Venice especially if u visit Murano and Burano. I agree that Milan should be skipped on this trip.

100% agree! Komo is much nicer for a day trip.

Depends if you do art museums or not... I do and could have spent 4 days there if I had the time... If you just do the main 2 and walk around it can be done in 2 or even 1 day (pushing it).
I think this plan was great.
Thanks :)

I only ate in Milan and flew out from there so it was just a suggestion but I guess its really not worth it.

I walked between sights/attractions/hotel in all of those cities (Rome, Florence and Venice). Just make sure your hotel is centrally located...

If you have a car it's a 3 hour drive. So you'd probably want to stay the night.

How's the drive itself?

I did it from Florence. From Venice you should drive along the Alps, but not sure if you see them.

For the record I drove in about 15 different countries and found Italy to be the hardest. Could just be my experiences...

Italian drivers are by far the most aggressive I've ever seen

Especially in southern Italy
