Can you make it to Phnom Penh (Cambodia) to do shabbos there? it's a short flight from BKK... though unless you fly Air Asia, can be quite pricey...

Haven't yet been but it's been on my list for a long time...

I'd love to check it out, but I need to be able to get there on a friday from USM and back from there to USA by early Monday morning at the latest. Not sure I can do that logistically, but I'll definitely look into it.

Lots of flights and only hour away from Bangkok... Be sure to check not only bkk but the other airport as well as air Asia flies from there

This is where I am now:

Su CX889, JFK-YVR-HKG, 10:40pm-6:55am +2

[in HKG for ~34 hours = All day Tu and most of We]

Wed CX703, HKG-BKK 5:15pm-7:00pm
Wed, ??, BKK-CNX (Note: the reason I am not flying directly from HKG-CNX is because I already have booked this ticket, though I guess I can cancel it if necessary.)

[in CNX for 4.5 days]

Mon ??, CNX-USM

[in USM for 4.5 days]

Fri ??, USM-BKK

[in BKK for shabbas, no time to make it to SIN, unfortunately]

Then Saturday night or Sunday back to USA.

For the flights in bold, I looked into the Bangkok Airways Discovery Airpass, but unfortunately, because it requires at least three legs (which I currently have) AND is capacity controlled (middle flight, CNX-USM, is currently unavailable), it looks like I'm stuck paying $500 p/p for these flights on Bangkok Airways.

AirAsia doesn't fly to/from USM, and Skyscanner basically only checks Bangkok Airways and Thai, which is where I got the $500 p/p above.

Anyone have any better ideas?

Ding ding ding. How providential.

Probably only a slight chance, but does anyone know the best way to search for availability?

ETA: As per Lucky, it seems you have to PUTPAC.

Not following this thread so closely, but theres a KA direct flight between CNX and HKG. No need to connect in BKK twice.

Thanks for pointing this out.

Despite already having HKG-BKK booked in CX J, I'll probably just change it to HKG-CNX on KA in Y  for 7500 Avios to save myself the connection.

I'm only giving up regional CX J anyway.

Regional CX J is nothing to sneeze at, though nonstops are always nice.

Nothing I'll miss TBH.

Saving the 3-5 hours a BKK connection will take (not to mention whatever it costs) more than makes up for it IMO.

Definitely, just saying it's much better than US48 F.

Just changed my flight for my Maldives/Thailand December trip. What do you all think? Can I do better? . Bear in mind that we are connecting in europe via MXP to have 10 hours in Milan but I don't mind changing to another european city.

MXP - IST: TK (X)
IST - MLE: TK(I)
MLE - SIN: SQ(I)
SIN - BKK: SQ(I)

Food aside not much in Milan. If you could get 10 hours in a different city I for sure would. Paris for example if you've never been.

We're pretty big foodies especially if we can pickup some good stuff for MLE but Paris may also sound like a good idea although we were just there last month.Really nothing to do in Milan?

I can also choose to spend 10 hours in IST but would prefer to show the least support possible

10 days is probably excessive.

3 days LA. 2 days San Fran. A few days by the coast and a few up in Northern Cali.

It doesn't sound awful.

Could be. Can easily add Vegas or the grand canyon though.

So i'm thinking of going away somewhere in July or August leaving from TLV for around 5-6 days.  The only thing is I have absolutely no idea where to go..either Asia/South Pacific ie. pvg,hkg,sin,bkk....or Europe ie. cdg, lhr, ams,mad...(not much of a traveler).  If anyone can help me out plan a trip I would really appreciate it...hate being asked to be "spoon fed" but I dont really know much about destinations. (And please dont tell me to read every thread on every destination...I will read the appropriate ones when I get an itinerary  :P)

-Going with a 2 year old and a 4 month old...So that probably knocks out a few child unfriendly destinations.
-No into water sports
-Would like to travel in Biz where ever I go (unless biz is not so worth it from TLV to places in Europe/Asia?)
-Venice, Rome, Milan, and Florence is out.
-Would consider staying over Shabbos in a place.
-Nice weather of course

Have UR and United pointss and have some nights at Hyatt and Hilton and can get MR.

TIA!

It's not about the quantity of your posts.  It's about the quality.
