DL miles are the most versatile, but you'll pay YQ on TN, though not on AF.
Do you say that because DL can transfer to AF and TN while AA really would just work with TN? So DL would give me more possibilities to actually find seats?

Are there any particular "good" miles which transfer to DL at a better rate, or is it really just MR or SPG?
Do you think it is worth it to try and get AA miles as it seems easier to churn?

1. They're partners. DL miles don't "transfer" to TN and AF. DL is most versatile for the reasons in my last post, namely two partners vs. one.

2. MR is the better choice.

3. Definitely not easier to get AA miles vs. DL miles.

2. MR is the better choice. Thanks

3. Definitely not easier to get AA miles vs. DL miles. Aside from the Amex DL card, what can i do to accumulate a significant amount of points? Is the DL card also a one year wait to churn?

Thanks.

MR transfer to DL.

DL in general, are worth a lot less.

Understood, but for my trip i am planning, DL seems to be the best option to stock up on.

If anyone has a quora account, this should settle the next few 'where to go on vacation?' challenges... or create a few more  :P

I would like to go on one great vacation before the school year starts end of August. I would love suggestions from people who have taken trips and know the logistics could fit my needs.

1. My criteria is use miles to get there (Preferably UA {economy is fine})

2. Not sure if I will have anyone to go with (anyone on here interested?), so good single person trips are a plus.

3. I'd need a cheap money spending trip. So if I didn't have to rent a car that'd be great (otoh if I do rent I wouldn't need a hotel so it could even out.) also if cheap hotels or hostiles are available also a plus.

4. I enjoy hiking, culture, scenery, beaches so I don't think there is a bad suggestion possible. I have already done, Eastern Europe, Italy, Shanghai, Tokyo, Singapore so those are out. A safe place with low crime rates are a big plus.

5. It can be in the US even, if it is really amazing I suppose, I have already been to these states.

6. Feel free to use my Bucket list as a reference, and THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!

What's there to do there? Would I need to stay at a hotel to enjoy it there? What activities are there?

You gotta do some legwork too, buddy.

Check out the Banff Master Thread. Seems to be a good fit for you.

I've never been to Norway myself but it's on my list of places to go.  I think there is transportation available to get to the fjords and then you can see them by car or boat.

Banff is also on my list, actually plan to get there in August IYH.  Though unless you're good with camping you're going to need a hotel and a car there as well.

And if you really had the time I'd do Banff and the drive up to Jasper and just get lost in the wilderness out there. ;)
