If my wife was from Denver I wouldn't have even asked what to here during the winter  :) I actually only skied once in CO I usually go to Utah where the access to the slopes from the airport is much quicker.

If skiing is not it the cards how about Arizona?
Where in AZ would you recommend for a relaxing/nature vacation? And what's the points situation there?

Thanks for the ideas. I was thinking of doing paris and iceland (to see the aurora) however there is no way to get to iceland via points. and paid flights are rather expensive.

I'm actually looking into this at the moment for myself, but from what it seems Icelandair advertises "a free stopover in Iceland on the way to Europe" for free. It may be worth it to just pay cash that way.

I assume you're talking about wintertime; from my preliminary research NYC-KEF is ~$500 most of  time, and NYC-KEF-CDG ~$700.

Not sure what you guys are discussing but KEF is a pretty cool place to stop. Look up Blue Lagoon, it's only 45 minutes away.

If you take a long stop over, it might be worth your while
