I would like to make a stopover of about a week on my way to Israel in January. I've been to London, Paris, Prague, Vienna, and several places in Italy and I'd like to go somewhere new. I've been thinking about Greece but not sure about the weather there- been getting mixed reports.
Any ideas/suggestions?

Looking to go away for shabbos. Child friendly location. Looking for a place to rent for a couple/family + parents. This can be in any neighboring state to NY. Up to 3 hour drive. Anyone have any experience with a condo or Cabin to rent for a shabbos getaway????

Thanks for help.

There are a few Jewish places you can rent upstate.

But if you don't mind foiling and kashering there are some really cool places to try in Vermont, Carolinas, Further Upstate, Maine etc.

Have you tried airbnb?

Ok, so since I booked my m-i-l to come for Purim w/ the glitch tix, I booked her to stay a week after Purim so I can go somewhere. I'd like to go somewhere from either Sunday night, motzai Purim (outside of Jerusalem) or Monday, till Thursday night or Friday.

If possible, I'd like to use US miles since I have the 50% rebate that expires at the end of November, so I'd have to book it this week. Some of their good values that stick out include Middle East for 30/35 Y/J and Central and South Asia for 50/75.
Otherwise, we'd use BA miles to fly to Europe.

We'd like somewhere warm, w/ beautiful nature. I don't think MLE will work out for these dates, most of Europe is below 60 degrees, and the Far East is too far away.

Any ideas?

So I'm about to book TLV-MLE for July, and am looking to add on a free one way at the end of the journey.

UA will allow me to add on a city in the Middle East, but not in Central Asia, for my one way.
I can't really think of anywhere to go besides for Dubai. Does any have any other suggestions?

Why not central Asia? What did they say?

I am planning something for TLV-MLE for 2014 as well. Whats your sample itinerary like?

The website isn't letting me book it.
If I called it in, I don't think it would work at all.

I had booked at the Conrad b/f the deval for 4 nights, few months later they said they'll be closed in the summer, and they gave me 2 offers of alt accomodations. I posted the options in the MLE thread.

Just gotta work out babysitting.

What are your plans?

Dunno yet. But still wondering if I can use the two Hilton nights for opening the credit card at the Conrad there?

Probably will go for 2-3 nights then maybe someplace else as well for a day or two. Still TBD. No time frame but maybe between Purim and Pesach?. When is a good time to go?

The Conrad is closed for around 4 months this summer, till mid-August.
If I could, I'd like to do my free one way to CMB.

Do you know which four months, and why? Guess I might have to do the Park Hyatt. Not a bad value, 22,000 points or $1,300 for the nights I picked out.

I was thinking India, that should be decent for a one time day or two trip. How would you schedule your itinerary?

Mid-May to mid-August
They're renovating some grounds and an attached island.
I'm planning on doing TK both directions, and while the 30k premium for biz is somewhat steep, both directions are an overnight flight, and at my height, I need the space in order to sleep.
I'll probably be there over shabbos since that's the only way I could work out the 4 nights due to TK flight timing. (Can't leave motzai shabbos b/c the flight departs around an hr after it ends.)

I looked into using AA miles on either Etihad or Emirates (great value), but the flight timings make it look difficult.

I then plan on using a free one way a few months later to go s/w else, and try to work out babysitting closer to the date.

I'll post updates in the MLE thread.

What would the AA routing be?

What would the AA routing be?
If it's legal, then it would be TLV-AMM-DXB or AUH-MLE. And only 25k miles each way (35k on UA).

But it's a schlepp.

Yes, although I'd combine with something else. A day and a half. If you're willing to hike with said baby
Life isn't about checking the boxes. Nobody cares.
