Croatia is beautiful, as is Greece.

I'm saving Greece for another time. I've been wanting to go to Croatia. Have you gone to Plitvice lakes there?
Is safety a concern there? More than anywhere else in Europe?

Summe of 2014 going from israel to nj.
Have a week going and a week coming back to visit Europe with teenage daughter.
Have ba, usair, and united points.  Also barclay arrival 400$ marriott and hyatt points and free marriott room and 2 hyatt rom days.  Would like to travel as in expensively as possible .  Any suggestions on itinerary both ways to maximize what I have above.  Also should I fly low cost carrier out of israel to Europe and safe the points.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Which one would you recommend for around 5 days - Tuscany or Lake Como?

I'm in the middle of planning and I chose Tuscany. Lake Como is more of a relaxing, stay in one spot kinda place from what I hear.

And if you're going in the winter, most thinks in Lake Como are closed, including almost all ferries.

If I base myself in Rome for a week what are some viable options for a day trip or even an overnight trip nearby?

Why not spend a few days in Rome and a few days in other cities like random cities in Tuscany, Florence, Venice, etc. I did hear that Pompeii is a good day trip from Rome though.

I'd like to do just that. I don't want to spend the whole time travelling though. Trying to figure out which city to base myself in.

we are planning a trip to Europe in the spring, for about 7 days. What are some places we should definitely go see? We are interested in Paris, Venice and Nice ( based on some friends recommendations). We can fly from place to place if necessary.
I know there are a lot of trip reports and have been reading them, but there are so many places to go we don't know where to start.

If you want to go to Paris Venice and Nice than that's what I would do. Wouldn't try for more. Nice is easy to reach from Paris and there is a flight from VCE to CDG.

Tofasta merubah lo tofasta.
Don't even try to squeeze in more than those 3 cities in 7 days.

Like the person who does 4 Hawaiian islands in 8 days. Sure you can touch ground in 4 islands, but what was the point? (Other than adding to a list like this ;))

I'd do Venice and Nice then and save Paris for a different time. 4 days in Nice and 3 in Venice sounds doable.

Or maybe Paris and then 3 days in Nice?

Too long in Venice (we've had this argument already). I'd do 3.5 in Paris, 2 in Venice and a day trip to Lake Como

And where do you squeeze in shabbos?
I think 3 days in VCE over shabbos is nice, esp with other islands, etc.
