Once you're there,  I'd hit up Kruger. JNB can be skipped IMO.
Infant friendly?

I guess i should mention i want to take a "long" trip before my kid gets too big.

Cape Town is an idea. Thinking maybe Bali or Spain as well.
Carribbean is great place for a long time. One flight, several boats. (When the kids are older, there may be lot to explain. Best when young/non-speaking.)

Infant friendly?

If your infant can handle long stretches in the car.

If you're concerned about a lion attacking the car, don't.

If it's waking up a kid at the crack of dawn (if they're not up already) and dealing with a cranky child during the day, then it may not be TOO friendly. But I imagine it's no less doable than any other all day activity.

Then again, what do I know?

Nope. This seems friendly enough for me. Especially after my recent trip.

So.. here's the challenge:
A friend of mine is looking for a place to go for a few days to relax. He doesn't have any miles or points. He's looking for one of these places where you can get a package deal (airfare/hotel) for a decent price. Or without a package deal that wont' cost a fortune.
Any ideas.... (not Florida)
TIA

So basically he's looking for a cheap PAID vacation.
Groupon always has many interesting getaway options. I never really checked to see how much of a deal they really are but it's worth a look...

Hi - I'm looking for a place that is on a beach (maybe some Carribean island?) where I can get a cheap hotel using Hyatt points (or otherwise Starwood points or just cheap $$). And also get there using miles for decent value.

I'm not planning on doing any sightseeing or touring. So basically all that matters is decent hotel on a sunny beach somewhere not in Florida.

Any ideas?? - expected travel is in mid-May for about one week.

I'd do SXM and stay at Westin on C&P.

thanks for idea. Sadly, their C+P rate is over $100 + 6K points a day. I only have ~24K points and trying not to spend anywhere near that much cash. I also have ~50K UR points I'd be willing to use.

Any other ideas?

So this is what I am looking at.. Trying to have some fun for my birthday.

TLV-SYD (Qantas F via AMM/DXB) - 5/13
SYD-MEL (Avios) - 5/17 or 5/18
MEL-HKG (TBD) - 5/21
HKG-TLV (TBD) - 5/25 or 5/26

Right now I am not really planning on staying in Melbourne but rather just doing Great Ocean Drive for those three days. Any suggestions?

Wife and I are looking to plan a trip in Feb 2015, using UA miles. Got tons of them. What are some of the best international locations?

Depends what your looking for. Are you looking for beaches, scenery, a happening city, etc?

No preferences, really. Perhaps a "once in a lifetime" type of location, one that doesnt require too much time (more than a week)
