And how do you get there?

I got ~$200 tickets on kayak. You have to fly to St. Thomas and take a boat to St. John b/c there is no airport there. AA fly's there so you can technically get an Avios ticket. But I check all the time and have never found any.

When you went for Shabbos did you take 2 nights?
Are they accommodating (keys.. doors..)?
Is it a 5 hour drive from NY?
didn't stay for shabbos, but met people there who did. U should call but I believe they had an option for real keys (or u can just rig the doors open with paper if not). I live in Staten Island, was 4 hours but could be more with traffic. They have great service and im sure they are accommodating to help however they can.

That's a great deal (they had last year too) esp if u get the townhouse suite, the 1811 house seems oldish. Note these aren't the SPg parts of the resort, separate business and no points/upgrades, but I think u still get all same facilities etc so a good deal. (Also if using chase buy groupon through the UR website for more points).

Is the SPG part a lot nicer?

I've done a 1-2 week caribbean vacation with my wife in January the past few years. 2 years ago we did St. Martin and last year St. John. Anyone have any recommendations for this year? We're looking for someplace quiet, with nice beaches and accessible with points, those are pretty much the only requirements. I've got mostly UR but can get my hands on Amex and SPG if needed.

Thanks

the buildings are all right next to each other on the same property, just these are not managed under SPG, so no upgrades, freebies for gold/plat members etc., and perhaps service could be worse/cant complain to spg directly if issues. otherwise should be just as good (not sure if they have the same great sweet sleeper beds and other amenities).

Cruise to the bahamas is pretty cheap and amazing.  Norwegian leaves from Florida, goes to 3 islands including atlantis, and is great on Kosher food.

Don't think they have that. It usually takes a couple days just to get down to most of the destinations.

Best bet is to look out of MIA.

they sometimes have cruises that stay pretty local. and don't go to the Caribbean or other destinations. these can be just for 2-3 days

I tried googling for "midweek cruise nyc" and other variants but couldn't find anything. Where would I find those cruises?

Why not? A relative of mine did a 2 week non Jewish Alaska cruise and it worked out perfectly. They made sure that both Shabbosim the ship wasn't stopping anywhere so they wouldn't miss anything.

All cruises (that i am aware of) are "non-Jewish". The Kosher cruises are just a group on "non-Jewish cruise.

I have also been on a couple of non-Jewish cruises...
