Oiy va voy.

I'm not sure I should give advice, as we're clearly not in the same parsha when it comes to vacationing.

No, we're clearly not. You and Dan blow everyone else out the water in terms of how often you travel and the places you've been to. But I'm glad you figured that out on your own.

You needn't take my word for it... Spend even 10 minutes perusing the various TRs and thread on and from HI and you'll likely come to your very own conclusion that Hawaii shouldn't be mentioned in the same book as Disneyland.

Now, if you can't or dont want to fly 10-11 hours to Hawaii, then perhaps Hawaii isn't the right thing for you either, but I'd pick about a dozen places in G-d's wonderful earth that are closer than that before settling on a date with Minnie Mouse and hundreds of 8 year olds.  However, if you CAN pull off HI now, as a young couple, my impression is that you won't regret it.

Well, if my wife and I have thought about it (albeit for just a few minutes) and can't think which would be the better trip, then I don't think it's so silly. It's why I came here to ask it. I also think that if you find that the silliest question here recently, then you're not on the forums enough.

Obviously HI is the more romantic trip, but I just wanted to know if Disney alone is a special experience.
Thanks for the feedback - you are the only one so far who seems to have gone as just a couple. Did you find the trip romantic at all (I know Disney sometimes advertises it as a romantic experience when there are no kids) or it was just fun to do it?

do u wont to go to Disney in Orlando or in LA ? there is allot if stuff u cant do with kids . like the movie tours and some other stuff about romantic I cant tell u about that .

I went to Disney with kids and without we head allot of fun both times . and we would go back again.
I went without kids and had a great time but I would imagine HI would be much better, I was never there :-[ so I won't give my opinion.

Thanks for the more respectful answer. :)
I didn't think it was that great, especially compared to HI.
Thanks, that's the kind of experience I was looking to hear from.

Orlando. Right, so I guess kids could appreciate Disney, but may not appreciate MGM (or whatever it's called now) or Universal. I guess Orlando will have to happen a few times. ;)

Still good to know it was great even without kids.

I think it's clear that HI is the better choice. I won't tell you now that it's also our 1 year anniversary. Oops. Yeah okay, bring on all the hate.

I feel blessed to have been able to spend a month in Hawaii for our honeymoon.
A month in Disney OTOH? There's not enough money in the world to make me suffer through that ;)

Don't let other people decide what you would enjoy more. Your wife is clearly into the Disney thing. Don't be embarrassed.

Mr. Yehuda i don't know you but I've been following your 2 biggest threads on your Europe trip religiously. IMHO i would think you want a vacation where you could just chill out and relax a bit. therefore i would say HI. yes i know there is lots to do and adventures to plan but i think it's still more low key than Disney.
Whatever you do- i'm sure you're going to have a grand time.
MT on your anniversary!

Hahah

I told her I was asking this Q here today, and she said, "Tell them it's me who really want to go to Disney!" lol
We would enjoy it with kids as well iy"h, I will just have to watch over her as much as a kid. ;)

Thanks for following :) That's a very true point and something we talked about a LOT over those 6 weeks - "Next trip better be relaxing!" I just wanted to make sure that the Disney-without-kids experience wasn't something that's really, really special if one can do it.

His anniversary will be when he goes on vacation in Jan, not just yet.
Hahaha

So, off to the HI thread then... thanks everyone for your thoughts and ideas. Only G-d knows if we'll end up in Disney as just a couple one day too.

Options:
Disney - she's never been and really wants to go
Hawaii - also really wants to go and neither of us have been

I would vote for Hawaii. Been to both recently and I don't really get why adults without kids want to go. You will have your time for disney with kids...

Other considerations are time, cost, etc. they are kinda very different trips.

I don't really get why adults without kids want to go.
1. Millions of marketing dollars hard at work.
2. Girls that get married too young ;)

The corollary to #3 below (from the pros/cons where you live thread)
1.this is where they always lived and never gave any thought to where I want to live (how most decisions in life are made)
2. I would never leave Brooklyn-it's smelly, overcrowded, loud and there are no grass and trees.
3. My wife would never live outside of walking distance from her mother-it might force her to grow up.
4. This is where my job is

I should ask my kids which they would rather go to if they could only choose one to go again. Curios why thy would say.

Just yesterday my 6 year old was excitedly telling his friend about the muddiest hike in the world that he went on!

im not saying disneyland is necessarily better than hawaii. but the way he presented the question and other remarks etc, its clear that disney is the right choice for him

Thanks for the recommendation, but I don't necessarily think it's "clear" that Disney is the right choice. Why do you think so?
