I'm thinking about NYC-AUH-SYD. Someone correct me if I'm wrong:

NYC-AUH-SYD on EY F one way is (edit 150k) per person (minus 10k pp for AA discount). Is this a good value?

Also, is NYC-LAX-AUH-SYD a permitted routing?

May be cheaper to use AS and then something else from SE Asia to SYD.

Yes. but it wil be 2 separate awards.

IIRC.. You can redeem AS miles for EY. Maybe you mean EK to DXB.

Why isn't it 150K one-way?

Because I can't math. Make that 150k before AA discount.

No.

MPM+25 = 14,933 mi.

Your proposed routing is north of 18,000.

looking for visit a warm place in mid January for about a week. willing to spend on flights from NYC + hotel/apt rental a total of $2500. preferably the place should have a Shabbos minyan.

[my top choice would be one of the Hawaiian Islands, but I believe that would put me over budget. if someone has ideas how to make it work, please let me know.]

So any ideas where to go? reasons why you think so would be extra helpful.

I would go with Florida, personally I would choose Orlando because you can get a house with a pool for relatively cheap. However Miami has kosher food and guaranteed minyanim.

Flights from Chicago to Orlando on SW would be about $250, on Jetblue it should be about $275 although you could probably get a better deal if you do some more research. Pool homes can be found for $750-$1,000 per week . Try Florida Gold Vacation Homes, Orlando Pool Homes, or homeaway.com vrbo.com etc.

According to your budget this would leave you some extra for activities

Have fun!

thank you for responding. I apologize for not being clearer but the 2500 budget was strictly for plane + hotel/apt rental. I was not including any $ to spend on activities or food. while FL is an excellent choice, I would like to go someplace where I don't bring my kids.
