Small List compiled for Flip phone service. Regular service with unlimited data and all to come.

1.Tracfone-All Carriers $20 Talk/Text 1GB ($30 for first 6 months)
1b. Unlimited talk and text, no data $15/month ($10 with auto pay)

2.Mobi-Verizon $10 (Additional $5 off the 1st three months)

3.Tello-Tmobile $8 , US Mobile.

4.HelloMobile-Tmobile $5 (first 2 months for $5)

-EXPLAINED A BIT MORE IN DETAIL-
Tracfone Wireless- (CDMA/GSM Verizon/T-Mobile/AT&T)
First 6 months at $30 plus taxes.
Pay for the first 2 months $15 each month with autopay, then use reward points for the next 4 months. Use Referral code OOAB-E354 to get you 8,000 points. You must activate and set up the rewards within 14 days of activating Phone service.
They limit 5 uses per month, so feel free to PM before using if you want to confirm they work for this month, as well they seem to be changing the referral code after every use. So feel free to post in the thread or message me for a new code.
The points will only kick in after 60 days of service(hence the reason for keeping paid service for 60 days) the points will kick in getting you 8,000 Points, which is enough for 4 months free. You can redeem 2,000($20) increments for a free month of service and do that for a total of 4 months free.
Now you must turn off auto pay after the first 2 months in order for the free 4 months that you added to kick in.  If you don't turn off auto pay it will continue billing your credit card and you will not get those free months until you turn off auto pay.
 Works on CDMA or GSM.

 Mobi Wireless- (Verizon/CDMA)
$10 a month. With a referral code you can get another $5 off the 1st three months which I can give you. You need to sign up in the first week for the referral bonus to kick in.
Click here to pm me for the info.

Tello Mobile (GSM/T-Mobile)
$8 Month with Unlimited t&t and no data. Picture message might not work without data services.
$10 unlimited Talk/Text + 1GB. 60 free international destinations - UK, Canada, France etc but not Israel
(Find someone with a referral code or $10 off referral code = P3VB48C7)

Spoke with sprint beforehand and they couldn't give me reasons not to switch so it was an easy decision.
did you have sprint till now?  What's your experience with sprint?  I'm considering switching from Verizon to the sprint unlimited freedom plan.

Been a Sprint SERO customer for almost 11 years and prior to that was with Sprint as well for another couple years. I was please with them but was pleasantly surprised at this TMobile plan. I had an old s4 from Sprint when I cancelled and borrowed a family member's old Tmobile s4 when I switched over now so I was in position to see a real apples to apples comparison. Certainly in my immediate home and work locations Sprint has not been nearly as good as Tmobile has been. I'm getting solid 4g LTE everywhere with TMobile while Sprint would cycle in and out of it constantly. Calls had/have been clear on both networks so I can't complain there.

I guess it truly depends on where you will be using it most and the overall value. I'm pretty sure Verizon has the best coverage as that seems to be the consensus out there. That being said, for me, it was well worth the savings to use a different carrier. Your area may be different then mine however.

I'm looking for a basic unlimited talk & text plan (or prepaid). What would be my best option? Do an carriers offer free non-smartphones for such plans?

You can buy your own phone on eBay for ~$20. There are a bunch of prepaid plans for $25/mo.

I have a promotion from sprint if I prot in a line. Where can I get a number for free or cheap to port in?

I know for google voice there is a charge of $3 but I don't know if it's good enough for them or it needs to be from a different carrier.

Buy an H2O sim card for a penny on amazon, call the number on the packaging to activate it without selecting a plan, and port that out.

looking to switch cell phone service
« Reply #632 on: December 06, 2016, 03:33:50 PM »
currently we're paying $240 for 4 lines unlimited with sprint,
we're thinking of switching to verizon;
wondering if there are any promotions out there?
does switching even make sense?
we would be going to 5-6 lines and we would need at least 12+2 gb
if anyone can help out a little will be appreciated:)
TIA
What's your plan for yud shvat?

If you need  5 (not 6) lines your best bet would be cricket you'd pay $100 flat after tax for the five lines and each line would get 2.5 GB of internet (after it just slows down) it runs off at&t so the service is very good

Your can always pay a little more and get more high speed internet, but then you should look into other plans
