IME it's really difficult to dispute restaurant charges. I've never been successful.

He is the same Rabbi that gives a hechsher to all the kosher Dunkin Donuts in NY
Have you asked NY rabbis about the hechsher?

ETA: Most 16 Handles locations are certified by International Kosher Council (Rabbi Zev Schwartz)
Reb Mehlman is ok, International Kosher Council is not ok.

Mike's Bistro now open on East 54th st. Went last night. Should be first mentioned that they are only open for dinner until Sept 1, when they will transition to Lunch as well. Quick review;

Ambiance/layout/location- Mike seemed to really find the sweet spot, in my mind; within one block of a great subway stop(E/M/6 lines). Metered st parking after 6(or use a groupon/living social deal). Within 6-7 mins walking from my office in Rock center. On entrance, there's a large bar that's really separate from the seating area, to maintain overflow, and or loud networking/socializing crowd. Dinning area is separated into 3 sections(one of which seems to be able to be closed off for small events). Contrary to some other midtown restaurants, there is ample spacing between tables, Great design and lighting, that felt trendy but not overdone(see ex-jezebel/ jsoho), yet still very upscale.

Service- Not much to say here other than it was consistent, well paced, and of course Chef Mike is always roaming and eager to offer a smile and warm welcome.

Food- Seems like the menu was significantly expanded from what the UWS had. Still, you can't go to mikes and not get Gnochi and Sweet ribs, which were fantastic as usual.

Overall- I thought Mikes in UWS was the best in NYC before the move, and I think he's done a great job bringing it over to midtown, still retaining it's crown in the process. This is an amazing business location, and I can finally feel comfortable bringing non- kosher eating business colleagues that are used to a certain level of quality, to this venue.

+1
MY LOR said IKC was fine for dairy/pareve items (excluding fruits and vegetables with known bug issues)
I am not saying everyone has to follow my LOR, I just don't think it's fair to make a seemingly matter of fact statement that one hashgacha is good and another is not

And on the flip side, you might find your LOR tells you neither hashgacha is good.

Ok - fair- so when someone asks is such and such hechsher reliable? The answer is ask LOR.

Is the aged wagyu rib steak at Reserve Cut worth $95?
