Reposting from my brief Thanksgiving TR so the food part can be kept here. Adding my thoughts to the wiki.

Yum!

So... I saw my Rav today and I told him I went to ABC last night, and he was like
Oh... He told me that R' Marmorstein is a very nice person, but that he runs a one-man show and doesn't think eating there is a good idea. R' Marmorstein also gives the hashgacha to Fairway and my Rav thinks that he has too much on his are and can't be doing an acceptable supervision with the amount of work that he has to do...

Sorry just giving you a hard time
Gotcha, that's okay :)

Do you mind saying who your Rav is?

R' Marmostein gives hashgacha in a lot more places than that.

Only makes the issue worse, unfortunately. :(

Do you mind saying who your Rav is?
Yes, sorry. I don't know that he wants his opinion shared publicly. One of the YU Rabbanim.

I hear that, I'll just ask my own Rav, which I probably would have done anyways.

Fairway is actually under the Kof-k. He gives a hechsher on certain items like cut-up fruit.

Does your Rav really know that R marmostein does it all himself? Or is this a rabbi guess? Hard to believe that would be the case.

Nah, either he or his Rav that he quoted definitely knows R' Marmorstein well enough to know.

Thanks for the review! Should have mentioned the soft product is awesome- especially the seater (if you had the same chick we usually get)- especially when there is a huge line and waiting is involved she's totally calm and on top of her game with a smile and zero huffiness- type of situation that would frazzle 99% of humans in her position. And yes they need a much bigger damn place.

Prime Grill or La Brochette for dinner?

Looking for some good sushi and some good fleish. Best bang for my buck.

If R' Marmorstein is not reliable (and according to some posters here R' Mehlman is less), is there really any Manhattan based hechsher that's reliable?

What does that mean? A Kashrus agency can't be based somewhere else and just have Mashgichim in NYC?
Also,

Go with La Brochette. Similar price, but much better overall experience.
