Doesn't matter. Dollar for dollar, this soup wins. I'm not mekabel otherwise.

Im glad to see its not just my imagination. I believe the chicken gumbo is possibly the best soup I ever had.
Whenever we order from Mendy's even the non-jews jump in on the order just to get the soup.

Yeah, a second portion of soup :-)

Honestly I dont know of anything else spectacular, I usually  just order a build your own salad which I find to be a good value as the portions are huge. Their deli and burgers are pretty solid but nothing crazy

+1, the soup and half sandwich is a really good deal. Not a real big lunch, but it's a great value.

Try the apple pie dessert (forgot the exact name, but it'll be obvious which one I'm talking about when you look at the menu). It's great.

ok so here goes my first review on here.

I went to Prime Sushi at the Promenade located at 344 Third Ave (between 25 and 26) and was pleasantly surprised at both the quality and atmosphere. Its under the hasgacha of Rabbi Shmuel Fishelis (Va'ad of Lower East side). Essentially the owners of the sushi have rented space inside an already existing sports lounge and have created an amazingly unique dining experience. I was able to eat sushi, drink beer and watch my favorite baseball team all at the same time.

There are over 60 t.v.'s in the state-of-the-art space and you have the option of having a sound box to listen to any of the televisions right at your table. It's an incredible atmosphere and definitely an innovative idea. I spoke with the owners of the sushi spot and apparently they are trying to help revive the downtown community and provide kosher options for the multitude of college students and young professionals who have moved to the kips bay/murray hill area.

Anyway enough of the boring stuff. The menu was simple yet sufficient. I've often walked into sushi tokyo and sushi fusion only to be handed a phone book with way too many options to order. There is a one-page menu that also has Kosher mevushal wines available for $8/glass and $30/bottle. Nothing special, they had some Herzog, Barternura and some other wines.

Owners said that for now delivery is limited to platters but hope to expand in the fall. Summer hours are 4pm-1am and they hope to extend in the fall to be open for lunch starting at 11:30am.

I went with a friend and we ended up ordering a whole bunch of rolls. I'm not sure exaclty how to upload pics. i read somethingfishy but i dont have flickr a d files too large for dansdeals. We left full and prices are very reasonable for manhattan and all in all I had a very good time and will definitely go back.

white dragon roll ($13)
Crazy Tuna ($12)
Promenade Roll (original roll) ($13)
Sushi Boat ($26)

I know Muscat just opened up on 46th street but I haven't been yet so don't know what's on the menu, waiter service, ambience etc.

It's mostly a takeout place with some tables to sit down. I don't think they do waiter service (but I may be wrong). Generally a pizza/pasta place. Slightly higher priced than Milk'n'honey which is one block away, but not as busy. I had pizza and a fish plate from there. It was ok - nothing to write home about.
