Relatively new and good option downtown in the Museum of Jewish Heritage (BUT U MUST CALL FIRST AS THEY ARE RANDOMLY CLOSED FOR EVENTS 646-437-4231), "Lox" with OU hechsher, similar menu to Ross & Daughters with great cakes.

Wolf & Lamb and Cafe K are very close, mendys is a bit further and la brochette is even further down.
