Finally made my way to UN Plaza Grill after hearing such great reviews about it!

The Decor and Ambiance is very nice. Its not easy to find the place. It is located in the Trump tower which is easy to spot.

There is not much parking around either but the parking lots had weekend rates of up to 10 hours for about $14 ($10 extra if you have an oversize car) We were starving and not in the mood of going around a million times so we went for that option

The place was very empty which was good for us, we had quick and attentive service

We started with the Wagyu Empanadas- $24 very good

We also had the Short Rib Tacos -$26 Its been a while since I had Reserve Cuts but I gotta give UN the edge here they were excellent!

For steaks I was thinking of going for the $350 Wagyu Steak but it was only 10 ounces so I decided against it LOL (just kidding)

I went with the UN filet- $61 which is a 12 OZ steak it was cooked perfectly but a little on the dry side luckily they had some good steak sauces but a steak in a restaurant like this should not need any sauce on the side

My wife went with the UN exclusive cut -$75 also a 12 OZ but it was very juicy and soft and cooked perfectly as well (the picture is a horrible picture) Next time I come here I am definitely going to go for this steak

Sides:

mashed potatoes- $13 very good

Wild mushrooms- $13 also very good

Drinks: Pina Coloda virgin $10 good & Pinot Noir wine -$17 EH

Dessert- Triple Chocolate play- $14 excellent

French Beignets-$14 excellent as well

All in all a great (expensive) meal but I would definitely return
Was just there. Arrived at 6:30 place was pretty empty. Started filling up around 8.

Basically had the same menu as above, except for a glass of Montifiore Cabernet which was excellent and expensive ($23).

Agree on the tacos, excellent. Best I've ever had. Pass on the Empanadas.

Had the same steaks. UN Filet was dry even though we asked for it Medium Rare. Sauces were not good at all. UN Exclusive was superb. Melted like butter. PErfectly done medium rare as well.

Mashed potato side was over-rated. Reminded me of what Karpas tastes like at the seder potato and parsley. Pass on that. Wild mushroom side was out of this world.

Desserts were outstanding Beignets and Triple Play Chocolate were perfect.

Brought home a second order of tacos and leftover beignets for the kids.

All in $380

Thanks @mochjas for the review and menu.

Abaita reviews?

Was there yesterday.
Portions are small but the food was great.

We enjoyed all the food but the pappardelle deserves a special mention. Easily the best pasta I ever had!
The restaurant is beautiful, but small. Make sure to make a reservation.

Haven't been out in New York in a while, coming in for the summer and have one or two nights to go out.
Deciding if we should go to reserve cut or try something new.
Maybe UN plaza grill? What are the other top options? Manhattan or Brooklyn

Izzy,
If you're willing to go to Teaneck, I would go to either nobo or etc over r.c. - much better bang for your buck.

etc tasting menu is a steal and the food and service is as good as anywhere. Plus BYOB from the kosher wine store around the corner (if it is mevushal) can save you a nice amount of money.

Have you tried La Brochette? Really loved it when I went recently for the first time.

They are different leagues. At the top you have UN, Reseve an Mikes. La Brochette is a step under

Different leagues in what way? Taste? Price? Ambiance? Service? Even the 3 you listed are not in the same category for some of those items. And because I have a minute to be bored, I'll cause the trouble  I usually do in this thread. The food at La Brochette destroyed Mike's, and I didn't leave hungry so that's another plus! Apps at least equated to RC's, can't compare the steaks as I never tried the expensive ones at RC. LB is also much more intimate that the huge open Mike's floor plan and even more so than RC depending where you sit. Haven't been to UN, can't comment on that.
