Finally had a sunnyish day to go to wsg. Soup was insane (whenever they have soup specials, esp buttsquash, they are great) and the short rib sandwich was great too (though $36 is a lot for a lunch sandwich, this was way better then the $29 rc basic burger). Soup was butternut squash mixed with cauliflower, and sandwich was like a slab of short rib taken off the bone and put on a great bread with some funky slaw and onion flavors, and will kill the rest of your day. I’m related to one of the owners so got a decent discount to make the cost palatable.

Can't go wrong with their Lamb Riblets, short rib tacos, fish tacos, and patatas bravas.

Barnea and Tabernacle are tied for the top 2 spots in NYC IMHO.

If barnea still has Brussel sprouts, they are really good. May be a side

As per the DDF Recommendations, I went to Tabernacle last night.
The food was solid, but I still prefer Reserve Cut or Mikes's Bistro.

We got the following:

TUNA TARTARE
KOREAN FRIED CHICKEN
BABY LAMB CHOPS
BRAISED SHORT RIB
TOMAHAWK STEAK
And 3 cocktails

Really good, high up there on the list. Way better than Tabernacle and Barnea IMO.
My favorites in Manhattan are Noi Due Carne and Reserve Cut.
They have great Italian meat pasta dishes, really good steaks and great drinks.
Give it a shot next time you're around, I think you'd really be impressed.

The fact that you think RC is better than Tabernacle and Barnea is making me pause  ;D
Nice ambiance, but not a fan of their food or drinks.

Nice ambiance, but not a fan of their food or drinks.
Restaurants are very objective, granted it has been a few months since I've been to either.
Tabernacle with the exception of the hot pot and Caesar salad, the rest of the food was really mediocre imo. (drinks were good though)
Barnea just wasn't very memorable both times I've been.
Any person I've recommended or brought to Noi Due Carne always came back with very positive things to say.
Again, על טעם וריח אין להתווכח.
