Wow that story didn’t disappoint! But $360 for 2 before tip is crazy!!

I’m too budget constrained to spend $360 on a meal with that service, and that’s even if the food was 10/10.

Next time Bonito 47 and the meat omakase.

One thing I don't get about these businesses. You can get a handheld cc machine with internet for about $25 a month. The meshulech type.
Any normal business should have it as backup. I have 4 of them. There's been a handful of times we needed them but bh never needed to harass customers.

100% Stripe has no monthly or annual fees.

Only so often we get together like this. Also was supposed to be lunch and dinner, though we later landed baseball seats that included food.

We also run a business where we often review food. :)

Ordered soup, 3 apps, 2 drinks, 1 steak ($88), 1 burger, and 2 sides. Life in the big city I suppose.

I was commenting more on pricing, rc is at the top level of kosher dining and clearly they have raised with or slightly above inflation. I remember the good old days going there every week for their $39 3 course lunch special :)

Many restaurants take out cash advance loans which require using a specific processor, with inflated fees as part of repayment. It’s not likely they would be allowed to use another processor.

Next time you're looking for lunch - there's 2 new openings in lower-ish manhattan: Falafel Tanami and Pita Bar.

Highly recommend both, and it's exciting since those areas haven't had much kosher food previously
pita bar is AMAZING! Been there twice already. @Dan you could have went to sen sakana. They have an awesome chicken sandwich for lunch. Also as said before bonito 47 or even mocha deluxe.

...too bad their food quality hasn't risen accordingly. Every time I decide to go bananas there, I get disappointed.

Last week for example, I went to the new location, and I got a $305++ 60-day dry aged wagyu steak, and I think the best way to put it is that the Le Merais pepper-crusted steak for 1/6th the price was leagues better. For $380ish, the steak should have rocked my world; it should not have left me feeling, "I could have prepared this better at home."

And to add insult to injury, each accompanying sauce -- we got the bearnaise and the au poivre -- was $5.00 each and they were, in the case of the former, terrible, and the case of the latter, so congealed that when trying to pour out just a bit caused the entire amount to come out of the serving dish.

The $38 blue fin tuna crudo was so small i wondered if they made a mistake. The gyoza was OK., etc. etc.

However, I must say, the place is gorgeous, and the service was excellent. Oh, and the Pink Lychee Macaron was deliciousss.

I just don't know that I'll return so quickly.

we once taste tested the wagyu ribeye against the regular aged ribeye and u honestly couldnt tell the difference piece by piece other than the price plus a marrow bone.

i hardly go anymore (bc i get a  10% discount at the already 15% lower priced Wall street grill and prefer the outdoor space during most seasons), but i went with clients last year and wwe were thoroughly disappointed. Partner wanted a simple chicken breast and they wouldnt accomodate him so he had to get a salad with chicken on top that they through too much dressing on. I got a $44 burger and didnt even finish it. they used to have THE BEST KOSHER BURGER the portobello aged ribeye burger that tasted fresh and amazing, but they gave me a hocky puck like premade burger that was missing all the flavor, even with some pastrami on top it was sad.
their pulled beef tacos (i believe they were the first then imitated by everyone) are still amazing though, and both locations are gorgeous considering other kosher options. I'm probably going to take mrs to the new midtown place for anniversary (and keep an eye on the pricing), but for work im already spending over recommended guidelines at WSG so RC-level pricing without a lunch special is only for very special occasions and machers...

  THE BEST KOSHER BURGER
Random: the best burger I've ever had was the Brasserie Le Burger Wagyu Beef Burger at Ostrow Brassiere in Miami. Life changing

Yes yes yes!

I literally said this yesterday during my meal with @Dan I also, couldn't finish the burger.

I had such fond memories of their burger 4 years ago. Sad.

(Mushroom soup, Beef Jerky, and Chateaubriand were all incredible, though!)

I'm shocked.  Usually they have such good service when I go.  Sucks you had such an experience.

Funny question,  did they know who you were?  Would be really dumb if they did know, and still made this whole fiasco

No, I don't advertise who I am.
That probably makes me alone among the influencer crowd. And yes, no way they do this if they knew that info. But I didn't disclose it any point. I'd rather get the real customer experience and report on it.
