Are those the only 2 options ?
Ib would take Mike's over La Brochette, although I've never been to La Brochette, the impression I get is that it's a good solid place but not on the caliber of Mikes.

Yes and no.

But I also don't like paying what they charge for soups.

This soup, on the other hand, is the best $6 you'll spend.

Doesn't matter. Dollar for dollar, this soup wins. I'm not mekabel otherwise.

That's like saying dollar for dollar the burger at Jeffs can't be beat.  It might be half the price of a Milt's Burger, but the statement is false because it's more than twice as good.

And what im saying is that the corn soup at Mike's ain't 3x better than the chicken gumbo at Mendy's.

And now that we're talking about it, I tasted some of your porcini soup when we had lunch there.

I stand by my assessment.

Never been to Mike's, yet the DDF community seems to swear by it. My impression of Prime at the Bentley is of amazing ambiance yet just ok food.

For ambiance, go to prime on the Bentley. Nice views, tables are spaced out nicely. Mikes new place is a bit squishy and a bit too noisy.

For food, everyone has different opinions on food. Therefore, I'm not sure why you're comparing two restaurants, if any, at all.
