Nice report, sounds good. Do you have any pics? Is the menu changing next week again for the special?
And leftovers?

seems the menu will stay the same but no amex $5 off. i was there yesterday too, felt it wasnt packed though fuller than the normal lunch crowd (still several open tables). I have pics i should post when i have the chance. yesterday, so that i tried all the lunch options, i had the fennel linguini which i wasnt into (and i knew i wouldnt be into it, but brought home for the mrs) and the seared yellowtail belly roll, which i was also not a fan of (and knew it before bc i dont like yellowtail). for lunch special the best move is the soup or salad and burger imho. but if u want the real best value for the buck just get a steak sandwich (dan's fav)/chicken club/prime beef burger which each come with a nice filling side of fries.

Talia's Steakhouse has the best Groupon deal for a kosher restaurant.....
" Not all restaurateurs can put up with the OU’s strictures. Ephraim “Effy” Nagar, owner of Talia’s on Amsterdam Avenue near West 93rd Street, had been certified by the OU but took his business elsewhere after a dispute over mixing wine and music......

Talia’s combination of wine and live music displeased the OU, which in 2009 told Nagar to stop it or his certification would be revoked. The OU rabbis contended that serving wine while live music is performed—except during occasions such as weddings and bar mitzvahs—dishonors the memory of the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem by the Roman Empire. Nagar said he dropped the OU and turned to an Upper West Side organization called Mehadrin Kashrus to certify his restaurant.

“You tell me I cannot have music and wine and dancing because of memories of the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem?” said Nagar. “It’s outmoded. We don’t believe in certain restrictions that according to some are applicable in 2016. It’s not the OU who decides. It’s God.”

Genack (CEO of OU) defended his minions. He noted that an estimated one-third of the Jewish population died in the period after the Temple’s destruction in A.D. 70. “It was equivalent to the Holocaust,” he said. “If we hadn’t gone through all those historical catastrophes, there would be as many Jews in the world as Chinese.”

I've gone to all of the usual places in midtown, but I will be back there tonight and want to try something new.  Any recommendations?  Should I go to UWS and get mexikosher?

Very cool - doesn't feel like a kosher place at first since there are non-jews that go there since its been open as a sports bar for awhile, however the guys in the white shirts and black pants at the end of the row made us more comfortable.  Hasgacha is clearly shown, however doesn't have the "feel" of a kosher place since its been open for awhile as a non-kosher bar.  Apps were good like chicken wings and poppers, got a burger and a draft beer, both of which were good, however keep in mind.  Don't expect a culinary experience but the food is tasty and cool ambience.

Quick Amsterdam Burger TR

Went with wife and 2 kids this past Sunday:

Had to wait a half hour to be seated as they do not take reservations and have very limited seating

They have no kids menu so my kids split:

Nuggets- $10

Hot dog with shredded onion rings- $8

A side of steamed broccoli (yes for some reason my kids actually like broccoli)- $6

The kids loved all the food!

For appetizers we got the buffalo boneless nuggets- $10 they were very good!

We also got the chips and guac which I would skip- $7

For drinks we tried one of each they were $4 each

The best one was the mint lemonade, the orange juice jalapeno and lemon ginger weren't too good

Orange jalapeno

My main was the guacamole burger which was $16 plus $3 for caramelized onions- The burger was big and tasty!

My wife got the pulled beef sandwich which was also really good and costed $17

We also got a side of mashed potatoes which was very good as well!- $5

For dessert we got chocolate cake which wasnt on the menu but they had it that night and the peanut butter mousse I took to go. They were $8 each and both very good though I would prefer the chocolate cake

All in all it was a great experience. I would definitely go back. The staff were very nice as well!
