Going out for my birthday next week. In your opinion what is the best restaurant in Manhattan, and why?
Best is RC or Mike's.

Best value is:
LM, Love the pepper crusted steak (only $40 and 0 fat), hot lava cake with ice cream, and strawberry daquiri.

not sure what you're into but the last birthday celebration we had, my sister turned 21. we (4 of us) went to the Sugar Factory (on Broadway). got drunk, ubered a few blocks to Talia's and had the most incredible meal there. drinks were NOT cheap but Talia's was and honestly, food there isn't all that great but when you're drunk...  ;D

if you're looking for a nice sit-down place you can't go wrong with Mike's Bistro. Excellent food, atmosphere, service, drinks... all amazing and elegant.
My greatest achievement? I am fluent in FRIENDS quotes

You don’t know what they were scoring? Was it space? (Mr b is huge) is it price point?
ok so Mr Broadway scored higher than, Mikes Bistro, Reserve Cut, Tevere 84 ETC.
Exaclty. Could be vibe they were looking for, space, wait time, price point, variety, etc.

I don't know exactly how they scored it but that would make sense.

im sure the score was determined by which restaurant decided to pay them the most
no I don't but I can ask him if you really want to know.
why don't you just ask the owner. He'll be more than happy to talk.

Some things are obvious and don't need to be asked

I love how you think this wasn't an AD. They had all their website info several times. Even mentioned that they do catering several times.

I don't get why some in this thread are obsessed with MR. Broadway but to each their own. I've gone stretches where I ate from them 3 times a week. Their food is hit or miss. The same sandwich can be good one time and bad the next 3. They dont care what you order and will put whatever they feel like in your bag.

If you order a grilled chicken specialty sandwich that comes with avocado, grilled onions, lettuce and some other things. Tell them you dont want lettuce, the sandwich will either have lettuce, or have just plain grilled chicken and nothing else

So if you want to tell me I have alternative facts maybe bring some facts of your own first.

I'm not debating your OPINION about Mr broadway. Ive only ordered from there a couple of times and things were fine. I've eaten there dozens of times and almost all of the time was very satisfied.  Eveyrone is entitled to his/her opinion and i dont think anyone here will tell you they are the best in the city based on food quality etc... presumably as i said earlier the scores were in many various categories.
What I am telling you is that they were approached by the show and not the other way around. That is FACT. they were told that these guys went around scoring kosher restaurants in a bunch of different categories and Mr broadway was chosen.
You can disagree with that if you wish... but facts will remain facts.

And yes i guess part of it is to turn it into some sort of ad for them.

They also go around to Doctors with the same scam.
You're rated the highest, now advertise with us and we'll let everyone know.

I'm highly skeptical it's not a paid ad.

How exactly is this a FACT? Do you work for the show or for MR. Broadway? Also just because Mr. broadway was approached by the show doesnt mean they didnt have to pay for it.

I actually re-confirmed. They paid next to nothing for it. They had to cover costs and thats all. PBS, being a not for profit, didn't take a penny.
Any restaurant in anywhere especially NYC would pay that price. I would publicize exact number if I could, but trust me it was pennies.

I dont know why you are obsessed with that quote it seems you are related to the owner or something like that.

He's not a celebrity anyone can go up to him as he is always around the restaurant. I just dont go there much anymore and I was being sarcastic saying that I would ask him if he thinks his restaurant is 100Xs better than Abigaels
