This thread needs another RC review like a hole in the head but seeing as they’re constantly changing, maybe we do need more reviews:

Apps:
Sweet bread $34 3/5
Pulled beef tacos $26 4/5 (now served on a potato chip like shell. Go figure)

Main/side
Center cut boneless rib eye $58 3/5 (served with a parsnip mushroom. The NASTIEST pos I’ve ever put in my mouth. Literally spit it out)
Prime short rib $78 2/5. Tasted like it could’ve been any cut of meat from any restaurant/take-out. Extraordinarily underwhelming
Potato mash $13 2/5

Drinks/dessert
Apple crush cocktail $17 1/5. I sent this back and exchanged for a good ‘ol cosmo which was 4/5
Latte $12 4/5
Chocolate degustation $18 3/5 down from a 5/5 from the last time we were there. The portions shrunk and it wasn’t as good as we remembered. The only reason we went there again was for this. What a let-down.

All in all we felt we could’ve put our $300 to better use

really unimpressed with RC. Ambiance is only attraction imo. Mikes Bistro is my choice every time for NYC.

I just reread every post in this thread going back to November and I don't think I saw anything about Wolf and Lamb.  I'll be in the city next week for dinner by myself somewhere around 50th and Lexington.  I have never been to W&L or Mike's Bistro.  Is there a significant difference in price or quality between the two?  Where do I go and what do I order?

Wolf and Lamb is closed this week as they are moving to a bigger location a few stores over. Not sure when they are opening in new location.

Mike's is substantially better than W&L. Probably 10-20% or so more expensive.

for burgers and sandwiches, W&L is a good move (they also do a decent sushi tartar which u may not expect). to really impress, or all out with the Mrs, its prob mikes for those who love it here (i prefer RC/Izzies for big money)

Most places. Generally, I dont like soda that served from a soda gun (which reminds me of going to bar mitzvahs in the early 90's) when they're off on the syrup-water ratio.

Completely unacceptable in a high end restaurant. Was going to air my complaints to the chef, but alas, I could not get his attention.

Wait, you dislike Mike's because the soda isn't blended to your taste?

No, that was the insult to the injury. And I never said I didn't like it. I actually liked one dish. A lot. But that was it. In the future, if I were to go back, I'd probably split a short rib for a starter, get another one for the main course, and finally split one more for dessert.
