Moshe Peking at Wall Street grill is so cute. Even got the wantons and duck sauce!

They say they will do it again. Was really cute but way too much food for 2 people.

It was a fixed price menu? How much was it?

Data point for Tabernacle - they asked for vaccine card/proof by lunch.

Overall, prixe fixe lunch was okay. As long as you don't expect too much for just ~$35 (after tax and mandatory tip), you probably won't be too disappointed. Meatball slider appetizer was good, ribollita soup seemed very taste specific - I didn't mind it, but wouldn't order it again. Fried chicken sandwich was tasty, but the chips it came with (literal potato chips, not fries) were pretty pathetic, even if they're made fresh. Grilled chicken was very good (seems strange to say for something so simple, but it was cooked perfectly), and my wife enjoyed the quinoa it came with (cold and soggy if you ask me, but I'm not much for quinoa anyway).

I remember having lunch prixe fixe at Reserve Cut a few years ago and we felt like that was a much more filling meal than Tabernacle's. I probably won't go back, but if I did, I'd be curious to try the banh mi (duck sausage) sandwich.

u need to take into account inflation and several years since the reserve cut $39 + tip lunch special (which was a great deal). in theory u could share another app to be more filling and still come out ahead. hoping to try tabernacle one of these days. for those who have ihg nights expiring, there are a few good sleeping options on the same block if u want to make it a mini vacation.

Lol, I actually said precisely that to my wife when we were discussing it. I just would've preferred they charge the extra $10-15 and make it a more full meal.

All the "low class" places don't ask IME.

Saba's Pizza has an UWS and UES location. It's a pizza shop with pasta and some other options. I personally like their pizza/toppings, but you're paying Manhattan prices.which you can see from the ordering section of their site.

Also Bagels and Co, but their UES location isn't very central IMHO

Doesn't look too expensive. $3 a slice, I know places in Brooklyn that are more.

and considering it was rated higher than pizza time (portnoy) . I think its a pretty good deal. I believe its 3.25 a slice though. I was just at the one on amsterdam yesterday

Look at their vegetable slices. Why said too expensive. The post I was responding to seemed to be cost-conscious so I suggested checking out pricing to make sure it’s in line with expectations. I don’t know where they’re coming from and I don’t know what those expectations are, so I’m suggesting they check for themselves.

Mike's
Manhattan cocktail 5/10
Beef tartar 8/10
Tuna poke nachos 8/10 (I love this but the guac overwhelms the tuna)
Smoked Veal Loin 3/10 (dry, overly sweet, not so smoky)
USDA prime 40oz cote de boef 6.5/10 (at that price anything less that 10/10 is a travesty)
Grilled mushrooms 8/10
Pecan chic pie 9/10
Pavlova 7/10
Ambiance and service excellent, food really fell short. That steak could have been a generic $60 rib steak from any generic tri state area steakhouse. Veal very disappointing.
The chiddush of DDF is the way Dan Deals with all us crazies 🤪

Thanks, booked for this week.

Any recommendations for lunch? Le Marais or Wolf & Lamb? (I did already reserve cut)
