Mike's
Manhattan cocktail 5/10
Beef tartar 8/10
Tuna poke nachos 8/10 (I love this but the guac overwhelms the tuna)
Smoked Veal Loin 3/10 (dry, overly sweet, not so smoky)
USDA prime 40oz cote de boef 6.5/10 (at that price anything less that 10/10 is a travesty)
Grilled mushrooms 8/10
Pecan chic pie 9/10
Pavlova 7/10
Ambiance and service excellent, food really fell short. That steak could have been a generic $60 rib steak from any generic tri state area steakhouse. Veal very disappointing.
Where's the gnocchi and short rib?

Thanks, booked for this week.

Any recommendations for lunch? Le Marais or Wolf & Lamb? (I did already reserve cut)

Le Marais is great for a burger for lunch.
But Tabernacle lunch special is also great :D

what is so great about tabernacle lunch. I’ve had it like 10 times already. Only great thing is the Caesar salad. I tried almost everything

Caesar salad and the meatball slider apps are both phenomenal.
And I very much enjoyed the Prime Rib Sandwich Au Jus entree. The fries are also excellent.

Haven't tried the fried chicken or the bahn mi entrees, but for $29 with the app how can you go wrong?

Noch a mol with the salad! Remember when the only vegetation controversy on this site was people getting rightly condemned for eating orchids?

Nope, I don't envision a time I'll ever eat there, for numerous reasons. ETA: Though, ngl, I'm intrigued by the salad

the price is definitely the best part and there are limited options in this area but the burger was ok. Never had the fries. Did not like the chicken sandwich and the burger and chicken sandwich are on the small side. Got the Caesar salad with steak and the steak tasted funny. With chicken and they told me grilled chicken but it had skin on it and wasn’t great.

Never had the heart to pay $12 extra for the prime rib because it looked fatty and I don’t like fatty meats

So to sum it up. Can you go wrong? No. Is the food great in my opinion? No. Is there a better option in the area? Probably not. Much prefer Le Marais burger and fries for like $25 total but it’s far for a short lunch break

Okie dokie.
all you talk about is the value. Once you start adding fries and extra for the sandwich you kind of kill all the value might as well go to another restaurant and order apps and sandwiches that will probably come with fries and you’ll come out ahead. And again you are raving about their lunch menu with only 4 good things on it. Not much of an argument

I went once for lunch. How many things did you want me to try? Everything I tried (Salad, meatballs, Prime Rib sammy, Tabernacle Sour, fries, wild mushrooms) was excellent.
You've been 10 times, but haven't once tried the signature dish? Time to try it and the fries I daresay...

Okie dokie.
But with their 'signature' lunch entree, it's no longer a 'cheap' lunch.

I don't despise it, but would never have ordered a salad if not for the reviews here.
It's crack salad.
Didn't realize the salad app on the lunch menu was the one everyone was raving about. Now I feel silly for getting the soup instead when I went.
