99% of restaurants have a res system, so it seems to work...

Anyone ever ask them what's the deal?

That system works if they work exclusively on reservations. Pardes does that and even there sometimes you have to wait a while.
What would it make a difference if it works exclusively on reservations or not? So long as reservations are honored before walked in, seems to work fine to me

Let's say they take both reservations and walk ins. You had a reservation. Someone else walks in right before you, and they give away your table. Not going to work. Unless the other guy is not given a table. Obviously if the place is never at capacity it is not an issue.
I remember when a coke was a nickel, and you could buy VRs in OD.

Right, that's not supposed to happen. Definitely won't happen at any upstanding restaurant

The point is, if they treat walk ins the same, the system breaks down. Obviously if someone walks in and there are available tables that haven't been reserved, they will let you sit.

I have seen places that are very synchronized as far as their reservations, and they won't give you a table even of you call in advance because they are full. Most kosher places in NYC are not like that, but then again, they don't have to be because they're typically not full every night, night after night.

Best meat kosher restaurant in NYC. Make sure you make your reservation beforehand though as they're strict about that. And be adventurous in what you order, that's the fun of the place.

The menu does change, buy pretty much any version of the BLT or the Chicken/Duck + Waffles will be amazing.

Very good food. The menu does constantly change. One thing. Make a reservation early - like in the morning for the evening. Hard to get.

Need to take out a couple of coworkers to a nice dinner in midtown. I am a big steak guy and they love to drink :(.

Wolf and Lamb is too loud.

I narrowed it down to Le Marais (not fancy enough?), Abigaels and Solo. Where should I go?

If you don't order the college student package Le Marais is quite nice and expensive.

If you are able to be seated upstairs its fancier and nicer IMO.

If Wolf and Lamb is too loud for you I don't know if Le Marais is the best option for you. (Noise Wise)
