and the ribs? I never had them back then, but now imo its the best thing to get

Wagyu ribs? Yes they were excellent. Does anyone know when they're scheduled to reopen?
I remember when a coke was a nickel, and you could buy VRs in OD.

I wonder if we can make a poll of people honest opinions of Abigaels vs Le Marais, In the Non ddf world I think Abigaels is considered at least as good as Le Marais imo
Actually just went to Abigails and was greatly disappointed. We were there with 10 people and a wide variety of food was ordered, and no one was thrilled with the food( besides for the fact that we waited well over an hour for our food). Personally i ordered the jack daniels steak and it came lukewarm and if i say that it was average i think i am being generous. I have been to le marais more times then i can count and i can remember 1 or 2 instances where i did not leave totally satisfied.

Bingo.
I got still frozen egg rolls, a cold burger, and waited well over an hour.
Between that and the 80s decor I'm plain mystified.

Even if my first time was a one-off, I've been to LM probably 20 times and I've never been disappointed there.  It may not be that exciting anymore but it's never bad.

I think the LM atmosphere makes the food better even if it isn't that good. I've been there about 8 times and was pretty disappointed the last time I was there. Wait time for 10 ppl would prob be pretty close to that in many restaurants - I don't remember ever not waiting a while at Mike's..

We had a 6 person mini-DO and were fed and out the door with the hour at Mikes a few weeks ago.
I know you're talking to momo but at Abigaels I was with 4 people.

I personally cannot stand the ambience of LM... seems like a cattle car.

Granted, the upstairs is a tad better, but still cannot be ranked as even close to the top restaurants in ambiance.

I take co-workers to Wolf & Lamb and LM for business meetings during lunch time. They are far more impressed with the service at LM.  Last time I took a co-worker to W&L, they messed up everything he ordered.  I stick to LM but sometimes it gets a bit crowded.

LM is very consistent IME, and that is a rare thing in the restaurant world.
Gives them extra points in my book.
Though I still maintain that their pepper steak, fries, salad, topped off with hot choc cake/ice cream make for a top-notch meal.

I'll take the 80s decor of Abigaels over the "sit-on-top-of-me-and-listen-to-my-convo-during-my-anniversary/birthday" LM any day of the week.

To each their own, I guess.

I should probably clarify i waited over an hour from when i ordered my food.I would say that i have been to LM prob 30+ times and have been to Abigails maybe 5. None of my 5 times in Abigails was i very happy with the overall product. Granted that LM is loud, but the service, and to me more importantly the food is hands down much better IMHO.

i hated when they got rid of the peanut butter dome it was the perfect compliment to the meal, they finally brough it back a couple of years ago. The ambiance does stink but as long as your upstairs its fine.

But still better then prime at the Bentley were they give what feels like a 6 oz glass full with ice and fountain soda for $6
