Its in the same place though.

Looks like Solo has now converted into a Chinese Restaurant.. Interesting.

The dairy place? Because the meat one closed down, so that probably isn't them.

Pretty exciting new for those who work in Downtown Manhattan:

http://yeahthatskosher.com/2013/08/reserve-cut-new-kosher-steakhouse-to-open-near-wall-street/

Opened for dinner last night. Some people I know who are regulars at PG and Solo went and said that it was fantastic.

Space is tremendous so I doubt they last very long unless they have a good deal on the rent

Went to Reserve Cut tonight and really enjoyed.

Unlike most Kosher restaurants, the seating is spacious and the decor is really nice (Modern Asian look).

We tried all of the appetizers and while portions were small, they were all really good. There is also a Chicken Soup with a pastry shell on top which was very tasty. One Special touch was how they had 5 waiters bring out the appetizers at the same time in a line.

All of the mains were very good and I had the Reserve Cut steak which was among the best steaks I've ever had.

I don't see how they will last downtown very long as they are not planning on opening for lunch yet and the area is deserted at night but if you are looking for a special (and quite expensive) night out I would definitely recommend it

Re: Manhattan Kosher Restaurants - Solo Chinese
« Reply #716 on: October 10, 2013, 10:25:05 AM »
Went to Solo Chinese Kitchen last night, had the beef lo mein ($15, didnt want to spend a ton). was probably the best lo mein i ever had, but of course still lo mein. they say the Orange Chicken there is very good too, but that's 28 bucks. I suggested they make a cheaper Seamless/takeout menu where u can get a chinese dish with drink for under 30, they are considering.

Went to La Brochette which is where La Carne Grill used to be. Was super impressed with the service (especially after the horrible experience I had at J Soho recently). The ambiance is nice, they have a violinist playing constantly. They have 3 floors, the upper 2 of which they said was usually reserved for parties. The appetizers were out of this world - we had a sampler which included Wagyu Angus Beef Brochette, short rib spring rolls, crispy sweetbreads and Peking duck confit. The steaks were very good as well and although I didn't try the sushi, it looked good. Prices seem to be typical for a Manhattan kosher steakhouse. We had the app sampler which is definitely enough for 2 people, 2 steaks, 2 drinks and dessert, and the bill was about $200
