First off you can't compare PG pricing to Les Marais.
+1, that's just silly.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

And PG is definitely not a quiet place, every table is on top of each there.

Depends where you sit.

I went to the new one once, but seemed like every seat there is pretty close to each other.
That doesn't make or break a restaurant for me, but I was just commenting on the fact that he said Prime KO is loud and noisy. PG aint much better in that regard.

I disagree. while the old PG was definitely closer quarters and a bit loud, my experiences at the new place have been much better. i wouldnt be surprised if one took the sq ft of the new place and compared to other kosher restaurants in the city, u have more space per seat. i was there wednesday night intentionally b/c i asked and they said pre-thanksgiving is a slow night, so maybe its b/c i try to go when it isnt crazy busy, but the layout itself (esp the seats on 2nd floor looking over the bar) gives you much more space and its not like the guy next to u across the aisle on the wall can join your conversation.
In any event, my comment re KO was really the loud music and scene downstairs, i've gone for brunch upstairs and that was great.

Point taken that le marais is somewhat cheaper, but its not that far off. and that place is loud (though i've only gone with guys there, so maybe a different experience).

Yea I guess it does depend when and what time you go, but I had a much different experience.

Finally visited Reserve Cut for a quick business lunch. Was pleasantly surprised.

Space is absolutely beautiful, though it is on the second floor (this may be why the first (non-kosher) restaurant here with a 2 michelin-star chef failed). really nice bar area, and generally high-class throughout, with more of a high-class asian theme (as it was in SHO) than Prime Grill's more stately 50s vibe. They obviously changed very little in terms of design, and this may be the prettiest kosher restaurant i have eaten at. Though i thought using cheap paper towels at the washing station was a little tacky considering the rest of the ambiance.

Food was very good, though all we had were a couple sandwiches. my host had an RC steak sandwich, which he really liked (with a little bit of salad, very small portion). I had the Reserve Cut Burger with portabello which i had at medium and really liked, though some may not like the thick burger to be so red in the middle. they gave me a nice portion of crisp (probably panko coated) french fries and tomato/pickles/lettuce on the side which was a waste and a lil weird considering i had portabello on top of the burger.  My host also got a Diet Coke for $5 (!!) which he was very annoyed with, because he expected a bottled diet coke for $5, not fizzy fountain soda (at PG we got bottles IIRC).

Timing and service were good (waited for the check for maybe an extra couple minutes), place was about 40% full (not including private rooms), which i think is very good for downtown (i used to eat alone at Jezebel/J Soho) esp considering the price tag, and was about 70% yarmulkes.

I hope this place survives though i doubt it (considering the history of kosher food downtown). The place is obviously a PG look-alike, with the menu being very similar and the Chef actually being the former chef at PG and then Solo, and the burger reminded me of the PG burger. my host (nonkosher) actually thought the steak sandwich was better than PGs, and was surprised more nonkosher wouldnt eat here considering the quality. In any event, we haven't had something like this downtown in a long time, and i hope this place somehow survives, though there appeared to be way too much wait staff for the limited crowd.

not to sound lame, but the Reserve Cut steak is the number one choice for a reason. also the spicy tuna on fried rice is always good at these places.

Many of the classier places don't post prices online.
You can find them here but I don't know how reliable they are.

Lamb riblets special is very good. Short ribs and steak are phenomenal as mentioned ad nauseum. Of course walking in there and not having Gnochhi is a crime

Everything is excellent, but REALLY expensive!
