Only problem with NoiDoi is that you can't make reservations AFAIK (There are many times when I had to wait 1/2 hour or more for table), otherwise their menu size, food and price beat Va Bene

I have not been to reserve cut but have been to Pardes 3 times. It's my favorite restaurant by far. (only Terra Sur and Mikes bistro come close).  Reservations are a must and it is pretty cramped. But the food is incredible. At this point he only has one main on the menu (a steak) . Skip it. Not worth it for $75. I would get 3-4 different appetizers (meat or fish snacks) per person and just share everything. My favorites anything with tounge, the blt, the shitso poppers and the burger (that's kinda of for one person). I would recommend trying a bit of each dishs components separately and then together to get how all the flavors interact. Sometimes I wouldn't "get" a dish until I tried everything together. Also the pro of ordering a ton of small dishes is that if you don't like one thing no problem, here comes something else. Oh and don't forget desserts. Order one that has ice cream. Best ice cream I ever had (milchug or felishig) was his sweet potato ice cream. Amazing

I actually asked the waiter (who was really  knowledgeble - don't be afraid to ask questions!)  if I could buy a pint of icecream to go. He said its one of the more labor intensive items on the menu, takes almost 7 hours to make (he changes the flavor of the ice cream regularly it's usually a side to a dessert such as the smores).  He said before a long yom tov if they want to get rid of it they sell it for $80 a pint!

And go thank the chef after the meal. His voice is unbelievable.

Have there been any reviews of reasonably priced NYC restaurants (or other cities too)? Seems like all of the reviews on DDF have focused on ridiculously high priced ones. Have no desire to spend $100+ /a meal for 2 people.

Check the wiki and thread, a lot of these places you dont have to come close to 50 pp.
examples: W&L burger, any of the dairy restaurants etc.
