in flushing?

hows the food?crowd?
You did say 'and surroundings', right?

Mendy's at 34th is the one that has a decently nice sit-down area (pic). Food is pretty good, prices too. The waiter-serviced area is in the back, and up front there is a non-serviced area too. What do you mean by crowd? Are you asking if it's crowded or what kind of people will you see there?

I was in reserve cut recently. It definitely lived up to the talk. The ambiance is great. Really nice place. Food was unreal. I had the ribs for entree. Was awesome! Had the $95 steak for main. Was real tender also great! The dessert was ok had chocolate cake with ice cream.

I ate there once and was thoroughly unimpressed. It is billed a steakhouse and I had a steak that was totally flavorless.

You don't go there for the steak, it's more an Israeli place- chicken shishkabob and the like
Should've asked here first :P

+1. And the pitas they bring out hot are fantastic. I have to pace myself so I have room for the actual meal. The father of a friend of mine, who grew up in Israel and is pretty particular about his middle eastern fare, goes there every Friday to pick up an order of their chummus for Shabbos.

Sorry, can't really help you there. I've only really been in the back lunchtime, and it was pretty empty.

Mendy's varies. haven't been in a while though. it's right across from the stern dorm and a lot of girls get salads and other healthy stuff in the front so i would definitely sit in the back.
