Ebay Fees Question
« on: October 16, 2012, 03:41:13 PM »
I am selling many of the same item for 5.95 per.

If I am not mistaken, it seems that a pure BIN at $5.95 ends up costing me $1.15 in fees, while Auction style starting at $5.40 and including a BIN of $5.95 only ends up costing me $.54 in fees.

Is this right? Or am I wrong and that is only if the auction itself closes at $5.95, while if the BIN option is exercised it will still cost me $1.15 in fees?

I hope that was clear enough!

Thanks :)

If its an auction, it goes by the auction fee.

Here are 2 links to calculators that will calculate the fee. Dont forget to count in paypal fees as well, as they can catch up on you!

try using this:

http://pages.ebay.com/sellerinformation/news/Feecalculator.html
I tried, but it doesn't have an option for when a BIN is exercised on an auction.
If its an auction, it goes by the auction fee.
This is even if BIN is exercised?

Only option for actual sale is "Ending Bid"; is that even for BIN?

I mis understood,. if the BIN is activated it goes by that price, the only thing you will save is the listing fee is usually free as its considered an auction, not a BIN

Maskana:
If item is sold through BIN, even with an auction option, the sale fees will be based on BIN.
However, the insertion fee on an auction/BIN combo goes by auction fee, namely 30/month for free. (Good trick to know!)

Just a tip - it really worth the $15.95 a month subscription to an eBay store if you sell a handful of items or even 1 item that has a high value.

How come?  What does the lowest subscription give you that helps selling a high value item?
