charged for lap child on AA flight by BA since I booked through them

I recently flew domestic on American Airlines using British airways points. BA charged me 1500 points for the lap child since I booked through them despite the fact that AA does not charge anything for a lap child when flying domestic. AA told me to speak to BA to get refunded the 1500 points since they do not charge for a lap child.

BA told me that since I booked through them they correctly charged me based on their rates. Is this so? Anyone had such an issue before?

Nothing to do about it now. Next time don't add the child on BA.COM add it at check in or over the phone with AA
