Even so... how hard can it be to put your seatbelt on, keep your hands at 10 and 2, use your signals, and come to a complete stop at a stop sign?

More like looking at the mirrors every two seconds, and when your not looking there turning over your shoulders for the blind spots, k turn, parallel parking etc..

You seriously think that that's difficult?! Try doing that while working the gears... (yes I passed first time)

IMHO someone that doesn't automatically do all that before taking the test, shouldn't be driving.

It is a NY thing, or more precise a NYC thing. We don't take it in a parking lot like miami does

I actually just took a mandatory driver improvement class this week as a reward for my amazing driving skills!

I failed the first time for going too slow....I made up for that many times over after I got my license

lots of kids take the test and are nervous. when I took it I was. (passed my first time) if someone fails as a new driver its ok, they will learn as they get more experience and will hopefully pass the next time. do you feel that because we now have automatic cars that new drivers should all be expected to pass on their first shot?

I took mine at the Laurelton location many years ago, passed the first time but the lady made me parallel park behind a fat RV which was difficult because you you can only go back then forward once.
I also turned right when she said left she was not amused to say the least.
