I have always shied away from flying Austrian to Israel because compared to other Star Alliance Carriers such as Lufthansa, Swiss, and Turkish, their business class product left a lot to be desired. Austrian has unveiled a new business class and economy cabins that will start flying between JFK and VIE in the beginning of December. It looks quite good and I look forward to trying it out.

And they will have all their acft refit fast, within 6 months, compared to LH that will take 3 years

i am thinking of flying jfk-vie-tlv in the end of nov 27- dec 6. the first leg is on a 763 which has decent biz the 2nd leg is on a a321. does anyone know what the Biz on that is like?

LH had regular biz, but are switching to single cabin A320s, unsure when.

crazy...i didnt understand why they had 3 cabin classes on lh on my flight but why switch to something so bad...? oh well...

I just discovered that the rollout of their new business class which was supposed to be completed by April has been delayed by a few months

I switched an award flight from LH with a stopover for for 4.30 hrs to OS biz in the new seats with stopover for 1.30 . Looks like a nice flight. Anyway on the OS site it has my ticket but says the APIS data is incorrect and I should correct. Seems they dont have my BD passport number etc.

Isn't that info they should have gotten from UA and is it important that I input it?

Interestingly enough, UA.dumb has started referring to the VIE-TLV stretch as a "single-cabin flight" (X class, instead of I class). Previously, business was (at least) 3 economy seats with the middle one empty. I wonder if it's somehow related...

It's a glitch on the United website, happens often to 2 cabin flights.

Thanks for clearing that up. But if one calls, they will switch it to I, I presume? (It's not much, but an empty middle seat is still better than a full middle seat.
