Just finished eating a feast at Citron and Rose. The food is outstanding, a must try for any foodie. We had matzoh breaded onion rings and tuna tartar at the bar along with some awesome cocktails. Then we had the house pastrami plate, spinach kreplach and chicken soup. For the main we shared the aged rib eye for 2, served with lentils and pickled beets. Dessert was Meyer lemon curd and pound cake, espresso and cappuccino. Pictures to follow...

+1
I could see that sliced aged rib-eye working for 2 people, along with some drinks, appetizers, and sides.
My bigger question is "Dessert was Meyer lemon curd and pound cake" - looking like 2 tiny slivers of lemon curd with little mini-cubes of cake.
Surely it was tasty and full of flavor - but, after a large meal like that then 2 swallows of dessert, and it's basically gone?

Mine too! I finally made it there

The steak was the beefiest tasting steak I ever had, they even managed to cook 70% medium rare for me and 30% medium well for the wife.

Im so used to steak being served with fries and onion rings. The smoked lentils and beets were a welcome change

I was so full that all I wanted was a sweet delicate bite to emd off the meal. They also had an apple babke and a chocolate pudding cake served with tahini ice cream. Those were both more substantial.

Best part was the waiter bringing the raw cuts to the table for us to choose our steak.

The home made pickles served with the pastrami plate were so good I asked for more.

The soup was served deconstructed, the bowl came with cubed chicken, blanced onion, garlic confit, gribbnes and charred broccoli, the bowl had some mustard schmaltz smeared around. The waiter poured the hot broth over the veggis at the table and the schmaltz melted right into the soup.

That's cool -- never seen the raw cuts brought to the table to choose prior to grilling!  Special place... Prices aren't too overboard it seems....
(was hoping to get there while Mike Solo was still chef.... )

Nice, coming to a store near me?

Heh, I wish. New distributors (previous distributor no longer carries them), so I have no idea anymore. :(
