$20 rebate won't work with a coupon AFAIK.

this is a great product after initial gas cylinder ran out i ordered the modification hardware from soda dr and purchased a 25lb   tank for 100.00 bucks filled with co2 for $3.00  have it since feb (xcept pesach as the frum owner of the gas place i refilled it said ther are 2 places that supply co2 in the usa one told him their may be a byproduct of chometz so he suggested not to use over pesach)
still going strong we use 2-3 bottles of seltzer a day  is much healthier then juice or soda and beats shlepping cases of seltzer  from shoprite for that alone its worth it never mind the $$$ u save

The reason why I don't do that is because all the connectors, metals, and glues used on the sodastream cylinders are all food grade. I would rather pay the money than be nervous about whats getting in my soda.

Soda yes but seltzer retains the carbonation just fine

Don't have that issue but I don't use flavors.

Exactly. Adding things especially sugar to a carbonated drink causes the release of the co2 (mento in coke trick) probably best to add the flavor first although soda stream says not to

No, but don't use flavors and I typically finish the bottle in one sitting.
 I am annoyed however that the 1 liter bottles aren't really 1 liter bottles as you can't fill them to the top. Unless liters measure differently in IL

i have the machine since december and very happy we go thru 1/2 to whole case a week
besides the $$$ saved using soda stream,  not having to shlep and load up is an added bonus
well worth its price many times over but i modified it see my earlier post below
