How do you get a $5 Staples refill coupon?
What will it cost me if I just bring in the empty CO2 to Staples without a coupon?

It's not a staples refill coupon just the typical staples coupon you can get 5 off of 25 etc.
Refills are 15, though they actually take your canister and give you a new one.  Last time I was I n Office Depot the guy almost charged me full price for the new one.

Ah okay. Well, if it's only $15, then a $5 off $25 won't help anyway :)
Right, I've gotten the refill before where they just exchange it. Just wasn't sure if I was doing it the cheapest way or not.

The cheapest way is to bring in two empty cannisters and the CS has no idea how to charge you for a refill, so she just handled it as a merchendise return/exchange. I showed her on the box that there is a charge (albiet cheaper) for exchanging, but she was clueless.

Yeah, I'm going to stay out of the ethics thread for this one. I can handle the $15, but thanks for the answer. :)

I actually made 64 cents last time I refilled at kohls.
Cs processed a return on my empty and gave me credit towards the new one. Which came out to 64 cents less after coupon

Ok, so my wife buyed me a sodastream machine with the leftover money from returned wedding gifts and from returning and rebuying things with the 20% coupons.

It was 60 dollars at Bed Bath and Beyond for the Genesis starter kit. Get it? Genesis is starter.

Then we used a 20% coupon, so it was whatever that comes out to.

So now I have a sodastream.

I drank like 5 bottles in two days. So I'll need to refill the gas like every day.

So what is the credited way to refill? Do we do the paintball gun thing?

I know this info is probably contained in this thread. But I'm not reading it. So instead I'm being that kind of person who just posts at the end and asks for a summary.

So what is the credited way to refill?

$5 off at Staples (but need to be filling up more than one to meet the minimum);
20% off at BBB; or
30% off at Kohls (can't confirm - I don't go there).

BBB is 15 dollars. So that's 12. So that's 5 bottles to the dollar. So that's 20cpb.

Staples is also 15, so 12.50...
If proximity and convenience are otherwise equal, go with BBB. Keep in mind the coupons are one per item.

Btw, we go through this stuff like crazy, and the canisters still last a whole lot longer. And that's for a family that likes their seltzer reeeeally fizzy.

I was going off this: (clearly an exaggeration but sounds like your CO2 isn't lasting very long)
I drank like 5 bottles in two days. So I'll need to refill the gas like every day.

BBB  and Staples are $15 a refill
 With %20 off is $12
 With $5 coupon $10
Kohls is more complicated. Their list price for a refill iirc is $20 usually more like $17 and often on sale for $15. And they have many coupons ranging from %15 to $5

isn't there a store where you can do canister "trade-ins" and they give you a newly fillled canister (like your gas grill -- a propane tank trade)?
