Sodastream
« on: October 21, 2012, 01:06:14 AM »
Too busy with the Alitalia deal to go out for pizza, just made a box of Frankel's Cheese Ravioli topped with Barilla Roasted Garlic tomato sauce and Haolam Parmesan cheese.
And drinking seltzer I made from my sodastream.

What's on your menu?
How's the seltzer compare to regular bottled seltzer?

You control the fizz level and it's a lot cheaper and more convenient.

I like the ability to make it as strong as you'd like :)

Other than fizz, is it as good as, say, Cornell?

Except that I don't use it to made coke, gross.
So those numbers are way off.

If I want coke I'll buy coke.  What this does well and very cheap is plain old fashioned Water+Co2.  I'm wayyy past the breakeven point after just a year.

Ah, I was under the assumption that one buys sodastream, you know, for soda :)

How much carbonated water do you drink? The sodastream sells here for ~$150.00 A case of bottled seltzer (12) costs between $5 and $6. Do you drink 30 cases of seltzer a year?

Cleveland water doesn't have bugs and it actually tastes good :D
I'm sure you can use bottled water if you want clean water in NYC...

Sodastream is $80 at BB&B.
Plus there are MIRs for it, I know we used one.

Also a case of vintage seltzer in CLE is at least $9.

That coke stuff is gross.
Also the water in NYC also tastes excellent, just need a small filter to solve the bug issue

-1,000.
Though the rat and bedbug infested holes I stayed at in my NYC yeshiva days may have tainted my tastebuds during that time-period.

I assume all prices Dan quote from BB&B have the 20% off already calculated in them
