Denied bonus on SPG card

I was told by a supervisor (who actually gave me her phone number to follow up)  that I will not receive the 10k points because I do already have a starwood card.  SHe said though that the 20k for spending 5k I will get because I didn't get that the last time i signed up for the card (in 2007).  She said it could take up to 12 weeks to receive the 20k so I should wait until 3 months from the day I hit 5k and if it didn't post she will make sure it does.

I guess it doesn't really matter as long as I know I'm getting the points.

I wonder why it will take so long to post.   I complained about a missing 5K referral bonus yesterday to Amex and the points were sitting in my SPG account this morning.

Really? I'm waiting for a month already while they conduct an "investigation".

Ah, well, you can rest easy knowing that they (probably the finest minds at the India call center) are working like crazy around the clock with their investigation.    (They have investigated for me too.   Funny that, for me, at the end of the month of time, they said the points would post the following cycle.  And then the following cycle after that....)
