https://www.hertz.com/rentacar/emember/join/overview.do?learnMore=all
"Limited Time Offer*: Free Membership (until September 30th)."
Does that mean that until September 30 I can sign up for a whole free year which would expire 2013, or it means that I can sign up now and the $60 fee would kick in right after September 30 2012?

Just used mine & my hubby's 500 points for a 2 day weekend rental at JFK.  Total for a Mazda 3 $5.38 - not bad along with my $14 RT Jetblue ticket.

Nice!
Unless you are worried about gas, when renting with points its up to a premium for the same price as economy
