AMEX is stiffing me for 75k miles. Suggestions?

My wife and I recently applied separately for the amex business gold offer with 75k bonus with 10k spend. I got my bonus but they refuse to pay my wife her bonus. I used the same link and applied for both our accounts at the same time. I called them a few times and sent them messages via their site. They finally sent me a letter stating that the offer she signed up for was the "5x shipping and ad spend” or something like that , and they will not give her the 75k bonus.

what are my options at this point. I was thinking I can threaten to cancel the card and see if they flinch or complain to the BBB. anybody have other ideas?

Forgive me, but i don’t know what you mean by that. is that where you put in a specific invite code? Then the answer is no. It was link/advert that i saw on eBay's homepage. I used the same link for myself as for my wife. In their defense, i think it may have been a cookie issue or something similar that caused them to not give both of us the bonus. I didn't think it would be a problem because it was different applications. The question is of course, how should i proceed?

I just realized what you were asking. The answer is no we did not have these cards within the last 12 months. amex also did not mention that even though i gave them plenty of oppurtunity. My wife does have the amex costco card. Could that have been the problem?

Insist on speaking with a membership rewards manager or supervisor. There is no reason
You should not get both if you both are MR clean!

@peterp the last time my wife spoke to them she was very insistent, what they said was that they will look into it and will send us a response by mail.
I will try escalating to supervisor. And i am absolutely MR CLEAN (on this at least . The only possible explanation I could come up with is that the promo couldn’t be used twice within one browsing session for technical reasons i.e. to give proper credit to the referring link.

You are probably right abt cookie -- do you or anyone have a screen shot of offer , if not "maybe" can ask on FT if have screen shot  and send in with sm --last choice --escalate to executive office and plead ur case

I dont know what FT is, but google did produce a screenshot. Thanks for the idea. I also reale now that this was a punishment for not using DD link for signup. However, at that time i was not that familiar with DD  .

How would i escalate to the executive office, call in regular and ask? is there specific # ? i guess i cann google that too. if you know of a # let me know. thanks again

Do what SPLP suggest but also call Memberhsip Rewards dept
800  297 1094 directly and ask for a manager or supervisor
 I forgot which one it is.
 I had a manager get me 180 k in bonuses for 3 cards that CSRs were denying me

I believe if u can make your case well to a MR Manager they will advocate for you , since
You and your wife are prospective want to be loyal (HINT) yuppie clients that amex is courting

GL and never give up if you are as MR clean as you say which I believe

It looks like i have alot to learn. When @PETERP wrote "MR clean" I thought you meant MR. CLean as in, I'm clean and not just lying about what happenend and/or trying to abuse the system. .

My wife does have a regular Amex blue card, whch i believe gives membership rewards but i understood that that card will not impact the bonus on the gold business. as a matter of fact i have the business version of that card and i did get the bonus. Do you feel that thats what's causing the problem? amex never mentioned that to me. ill make one more last ditch effort. thanks

AMEX not giving me my sign up bonus on 2 cards. Gold 75k and Platinum 50k saying I received the bonuses in the past.
I have received a bonus for the gold on both consumer and a business card however this is another business and the others were at least 6 months before this card. Platinum I have only received 1 signup bonus and it was consumer card and this is business. any suggestions?

I'm no expert but i believe you need to wait 12 months. Regarding different buseness, was the TIN/SSN the same? I'ts way to easy to create "businesses". Imagine what fun the fine people on this forum would have if that was allowed. I wonder though what the rule is if the TIN is different. Probably still not allowed.

the TIN was different. also the biz plat was a first I only have consumer plat. what to do?
