Don't understand what being an atheist has to do with being disrespectful.

Being an atheist isn't necessarily disrespectful. But saying things that are far from the Gra's ideology while using his avatar is. (no hard feelings CV)

Don't understand what being an atheist has to do with being disrespectful.
it is disrespectful to the GR"A and his followers for an athiest to express his inevitably irreligious and therefore anti-Torah views while the GR"As picture is conspicuously placed directly to the right of each of said athiest's posts.

CV is not an atheist.
well then color me confused.
Either way, if he is not Jewish it is disrespectful to use such an avatar.
It is also misleading for a gentile to use suchvan avatar. But that's besides the point.

Btw I always found HM's three candles to be extremely disrespectful and disturbing.....I was glad that he removed them. I never mentioned anything because I thought he sincerely picked that avatar, but now I'm not so sure...

intetesting cuz he is constantly making comments about "those who don't believe in a g-d" etc. Maybe he very much enjoys playing devil's advocate. Otherwise I remain confused.

Back to the future or Star wars?
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.
